A pilot study published on May 10, 2012, in the journal Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair concluded that using the Fisher Wallace Stimulator over the primary motor cortex may lead to acute improvement of gait and balance recovery in patients with long-standing Parkinson's disease. Improving gait and balance can reduce the risk of injury from falling and other movement related accidents, and lead to an improved quality of life for patients with Parkinson’s disease.

Googled Fisher Wallace Stilmulator and found this website drpawluk.com/liss-machine/ ) . This Doctor explains in detail about the stimulator.. I thought it was very interesting how it works. The unit sells for $695.00 and if it does what it says, it is well worth it. You need a Rx to get the unit, but he says that he can help with that. I will getting one, maybe soon. Are you going to get one?
The research that I have read on this has left me a bit skeptical. it does not appear harmful, but i would be careful when seeing a device "approved by the FDA" for one condition inferring efficacy for other maladies. Have you happen to investigate to learn if it is covered by medicare or other health insurance programs? Not proof in and of itself that the device is quackery or not, but another step to answering that question...as would discussing this with an experienced, open-minded neurologist?
If it seems too good to be true...

Have to write that as used by people in medicine, "acute" is defined as short term. But any improvement by way of any stimuli should lead to greater understanding of PD. and maybe a long lasting therapeutic intervention. Maybe it is what led to DBS, its over my head.
