Best to consult with your doctor/s for your specific requirements.

Has a brace been discussed with you? A brace would re-establish correct posture.

Is physical therapy an option? to strengthen and regain proper posture?

Be well. Carry on strong.

Yoga helps a bit. I think it is a touch of dyskinesia..

I'm having the same problem with my posture and holding my head up. I am also always leaning to the right which is my weakest side. Please help if you know of a solution.

Maryalice,I also have a problem with my neck leaning forward.....I really dislike looking like a "turtle".

One day I "Googled" it, and came up with the following site about "Dystonia".....Click on the link below, then click on " Dystonias Fact Sheet ".....then scroll down to "Cervical dystonia" I printed the article up, and am going to talk to my PD neurologist about the matter.......I hope this helps!

Try lying down with just enough support of a small pillow for comfort. Next try flattening the curve in your neck by pressing the small of your neck downward toward the pillow... there is very little motion , just tension. hold for 3-5 counts. This is reversing the forward stoop with backward pull without the weight of your head. Don't do it if it hurts... seek a PT.

If when layinying goat or backif u place a small pillow under your back .just across the middle of yr shoulder blades it help straighten the back pulls it up straight .. I do that in bed at nigh

My husband also has cervical stenosis with natural fixation of the vertebrae. He has no control over the forward tilt. I'd consult with your Movement Disorder Specialist. PT may help in some circumstances

I had no control over my right side head tilt....cervicle dystonia but the botox injections changed my outlook... My head no longer tilts thanks to my Movement Disorder Specialist. THe botox certainly isnt a cure but gives me more control of my head..One less symptom to worry about.. the botox lasts 3 months.. I have been getting them for a year.

Ivyanne,

ThanK you so much, I had never heard of Botox for treatment of dystonia.

I will investigate this procedure here in the uk .

You are welcome Soniadakini. i had never heard of using Botox in this manner eithor and my head was tilted almost to my right shoulder at times.. I couldnt hold it up.. but now i am fine,, I also get botox injections in my eyelids because they wouldnt stay open. When they closed i couldnt open them except with force.. didn't help my driving..lol.. As long as I get the injections I don't have that problem.. (I dont drive anymore anyway.. too many other problems now).. Check with your doctor and good luck..Ivyanne

Have you tried blue tinted lenses?

Research has shown blue tinted lenses benefit some patients with Dystonia / Dyskenisia.

Definitely worth a go if you've not tried it.
