Another treatment with exciting results - Duodopa (levadopa-carbidopa gel)

This video from Sweden is very short but dramatic. It show Pers who uses Duodopa treatment. Before and after shots. It is available in some parts of Europe. US are in trial.

There certainly seems to be alot to be hopeful about. I was thinking on DBS and reading the Postings on it. What an amazing procedure. The neuro surgeon i last heard talking about it does it under general anaesthetic using a DAT scan ( there isa scanner in the theatre!) for positioning of the probes.

There are two other treatments i dont think i have seen written about here. There is Apo morph delivered continuously through sub cutaneous infusion. It evens out medication fluctuations and is getting more popular.

There is duodopa, an infusion into the duodenum. These Swedish videos show the amazing results for Pers. The first one you will see Pers disconnecting his pump and he reverts to his unmedicated state. The next one shows the bigger picture. The videos are not just about duodopa but about life with parkinsons.

Hi thanks for all that inforlooks interesting, a little feedback on the Apo morphine my hubby was on it for a good while and it really worked a treat but unfortunately it eventually caused his blood pressure to drop dramatically and his was ending up in a collapsed state; so had to come off it .
