Shall I stop taking my medication?

Last night I felt the bed was moving under me and today sitting in the armchair I felt the chair was moving under me. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Could it be the pills I'm taking?I take 3 madopar and 2 amantadine tablets per day, should I stop taking the pills or cut down?

I think you should consult your Doctor, it is dangerous to come off your tablets without doing so.

He is so right. My doctor told me to stop taking one of my pills ,,Clonazepam,, He was going to put me on something else. because of my Insurance . I went through withdrawal and it was hell. It could have been a lot worse. Always read the paper that the druggist attaches to your medication. I had to tell my doctor that the paper said never to just stop taking this medicine , consult with your doctor or druggist.. I hope they make you feel better soon.

Must be very frightening for you, but yes get in touch with the doc as soon as you can, do not stop taking meds but get advise, be a bit pushy if its interfering with your life. Take care

I also went off one pill to start a new one. It was NOT fun! It was helpful.

I have also learned to look up, on line, any new meds I am given and make a note of any cautions and read info included with each perscription. I include this information when giving doctors my info aboutt my meds.

Hope the change helps.

Yes, I realize half the misery I went through the past year had to do with changing meds which I HAD to do and did according to doctor's instructions to titrate. But still took months to get back to 'normal'. Good luck and hang in.

p.s. I am NEVER AGAIN trying a different med to see if it works better than sinemet. NOT worth it. I'm 71 and can't play around. Or won't.

I can imagine the fear you must have felt but please never stop taking your meds without doctor approval and assistance. As you have read or may or may not know, this can be lead to serious complications if not done properly.

You should contact your doctor and see them for questions as to what you are experiencing.

My neurologist thought I was over-medicated and told me to stop taking Amantadine. I asked him if I should cut back slowly, take more sinemet, how should I stop? He said to just stop. That just about killed me. Than I read the instructions for amantadine and it says do not stop cold turkey. From now on I read all instructions and leave nothing to chance or trust in a doctor. Now I have a terrible tremor that I never had. Please check drugstore.com for advice after talking to your doctor.

Thanks Magic Max and everybody for your comments.

I saw my neurologist last week and he told me to stop taking the tablets but to do it gradually starting with the madopar tablets as he didn't think that they were doing me any good.
