Improve your walking by using a tennis ball.

The fellow in this video is a former ballet dancer, from Russia I believe, who was diagnosed ten years ago. He has a website with lots of pd-related exercise videos, many of which are free. He makes a living by designing exercise and nutrition programs for Parkinson's people, and has a website at pdonthemove.com .

The video demonstrates just what the title says. It actually works!

I think we ve seen this man before but it inspired my husband to use a tennis ball while walking. Includes skipping too, or walking sideways! Think it helps a lot!

I posted this videosome years ago. At the time I commented that it is interesting that this involves distraction rather than focus on movement. J Pepper advocates the later.

Probably unrelated, but I've found my catch-the-salt-shaker-falling-from-the-dinner-table reflexes largely intact.

this spring I took up Pickle Ball , just before the world learned about isolation, personal distance , etc. ... what I found was that one needs to do things as fast and as hard as you can to rekindle lagging muscles and fine motion control, never mind that you have PD, play to your ability and work at improving each game, while having FUN! it's a one way ticket and you only get ONE!.... ENJOY

Brilliant video. Thank you. I have found distraction to be brilliant. Sometimes my walking may not be so good but i can skip and run effortlessly its like i never forgot. In yoga if i having trouble keeping balance i find if i count or if my hands are together i press alternate fingertips n my balance is good as my mind is distracted.
