Neurofilament light chain is a biomarker of neurodegeneration that can be measured in either cerebrospinal fluid or blood. My understanding is it can be used to determine if someone is in the early stages (prodrome) of a neurodegenerative disease or if their symptoms are due to something else. Seems like a test I want. Has anyone had their neurofilament light chain levels tested? How did you go about getting it done?
