Creatine, StemEnhance, B1 Thiamine & Amantadine

I received a bonus container of “Pure Creatine” with a mail order, a couple months ago. I decided to go to the internet to see what it was used for and was surprised to see claims that some people feel it has been helpful for PwP. I use an electrolyte drink mix recommended by my primary care doctor. To my surprise, a scoop of the Creatine added to a 12 oz bottle of electrolyte blends right in and is flavorless. So, I am using it up.

Who knows? Perhaps the Creatine will work in synergy with the StemEnhance I am taking. I can definitely report the B1 Thiamine has helped resolve my balance issues, And the Amantadine continues to provide me with unparalleled energy.

I take creatine. I started to give me an edge cycling.

Found this explanation.

Creatine helps in promoting of lean-muscle mass.

It increases muscle cell volume by increasing water.

Creatine increases work capacity in muscle.

It also increases muscle stores of creatine for short term energy.

I can confirm that it helps with cycling.

Can’t say my PD is any better for it.

MJFox insight questionnaires always asks me if I take it?

I have heard it’s best to drink plenty of water to flush it out of your kidneys.

Thank you for the explaination, Joe. I use a WBV machine to exercise, doing squats, knee lifts and jumps for my exercise routine.

I take b-comp and amantadine and don't see any positive effects. I used to take creatine. It made running up steep hills a lot easier. But led to severe muscle cramps.

Kaypeach, I know no two people with PD experience it the same... and that is why there are so many meds, because we don't all respond to the same things. I took a b-complex, because a dr. told me it would resolve my allergic issues with walnuts, chocolate, etc.. It worked wonderfully... No more cancor sores in my mouth. The B-complex only has 25mg of B1 Thiamine HLC. What I am taking 1s 46 times more. Dr. Costatini indicated it is water soluable and perfectly safe. Who knows? Maybe my energy boost came from the B1 Thiamine . but only kicked in at the same time I added the amandatine.

Are canker sores related to Parkinson’s? I had chronic canker sores from the time I was 23 and I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s when I was 55. I stopped having them around the diagnosis. Are the two connected?

I don't think there is any connection at all between cankers and Parkinson's other than perhaps vitamin deficiencies

Canker sores are small, very painful blisters on the gums, cheeks. I had them since I was a teenager. I thought they were stress-related so I took Stress tabs, a b-comp. Once I started drugs for autoimmune disease like MS and PD they seemed to no longer recur.

Tincture of Benzoin is labeled as a mucosal desiccant. Tincture means alcohol based. I would soak a Q-tip in it then rub it on the sores. It was very painful when applying to a cheek blister but it did seal the sore and stop the pain quickly.

Nothing to do with PD but it was also a treatment for blisters caused by running long distances in ill-fitting running shoes. I would puncture a blister to drain the fluid then apply Tincture, This would cause very loud colorful language but like the mouth sores it would quickly stop the pain and allow me to continue running,
