I would contact the neuro's office. I would tell them that I have read that taking these two medications together can increase the risk of Serotonin Syndrome. I would ask them to check with the neuro whether he/she still recommends that I should take both of these medications.

In my case, I have been taking mirtazapine (15mg) and rasagiline (1mg) for several years now. My neuro and I are both of the view that the risk (at 15mg) is low. However, I also keep in mind the symptoms of Serotonin Syndrome, in case these symptoms arise.

I take both, have never had a problem. Both my neuro and my psy-doc say the risk is extremely small.
