i used 12mg. I was no longer in control of my libido. Sex was the only thing that went through my mind, it became an obsession and an addiction. I couldn't resist causing it to undermine my life.
Now I take another 8mg. The sex drive is still bad but I have it under control now.
I was hoping to get half that problem but it made me groggy and not very sexy. I only made it to 3mg 3x a day then i gave up tapering off now.
I take a very low dose for restless legs (1mg). I was informed by my neuro that taking high doses can cause obsessive behavior. It works well for me.
Dr. Said to take .25 mg 3times a day.for one week then call them . Mine is for tremor. Is yours for tremor?

And how many times a day do u take the 1mg?

My mother was taking this, but only 1 mg at nighttime. Originally prescribed for wrongly diagnosed restless leg. Once PK and Essential tremor was correctly diagnosed, she continued using the 1 mg along with other PK meds, but only once per night, she felt that it was helpful to her.
Early on in my PD I was on requip along with a few other meds trying everything I could to stabilize my body. All I remember about it was getting leg swelling. Ultimately it all ended with DBS which has been my salvation. It isn’t perfect, but has helped for some time. You are on a much lower dose. I wouldn’t worry.
Thank u so much....they say they will up the dose after a week til I reach 1mg right now it's. .25 mg three x a day... how many mg. Does it take to equal 1mg.?
0.25mg x 4 = 1mg
And I also take sinemet....I'm not good at taking these poisons.....I hate rx drugs!! But I will never have the nerve to do dbs
I gradually went up to 3mg 3x a day. Over a period of many months. It makes me really drowsy and I don't see any real benefits so my doctor is tapering me off. Down to one a day and I already feel better.
I titrated up to 8 mg once each night (fighting off the nausea) . I still get sleepy in the afternoon, so the doctor cut it back to 4 mg. I can't say the requip (I take the generic, ropinerol) really helps with the tremors, which is what I wanted it for, because I also take amantamine and carbidopa/levadopa at the same time. I honestly don't know if any of them really work.
I haven't had any of the obsessive behaviors often associated with this drug.
