The situation in Bergamo is heavy but the patients who find no place are transferred by helicopter to other hospitals such as Como Lake where I live, 600,000 inhabitants 330 cases. But soon every nation will have its numbers to watch.

The restrictions imposed by our government on the population should yield positive results, in terms of fewer infections, within a few days. At least that's hope.

I notice that the doctors, nurses and other staff in the video seem to be using minimal safety protection. Given the ease with which the virus is spreading, they seem to be at high risk. The masks they are wearing, seem inadequate to protect them? The reporter looks much better protected.

Italy noted 5,986 new cases today, which is greater than yesterday which reported 5,322 new cases over the day before, an increase of 664 new cases.

Sources seem to vary with some saying that the virus enters through the mouth and nose while others say entry through the eyes is possible???

Yes, it can enter through mouth, lips, nose and eye.

The most usual way is from hands touching an infected surface and then touching face.

The way masks protects their wearer is by making more difficult for their hands to touch their face.

Wash your hands for 30 sec with plain soap as often as necessary. It's the safest way to go.

I hear you, Gio.

I saw the guy sitting in the hallway on the bench and at some point somebody had to put the clear head surrounds on all of those patients. I can see that once the head surround is put in place, the risk of contamination is greatly reduced for the medical personnel, but before that point, such as in the diagnosis stage and until the surround is put in place. I imagine medical personnel are already in short supply and are way overworked as it is, if any of them get infected, it will likely make a very bad situation much worse.

What you see is the entrance to the emergency room, they are people waiting for a diagnosis to be made with tests, and lung CT. the sick already arrive in this way from the ambulance.
