Red itchy backs of ankles

Hi, does anyone have any ideas on why my mom's ankles turn dark red and rashy? Is this something common with Parkinson's or Lewy body dementia? Will go to a dermatologist, but wondering if there is a connection. Many thanks for any help

What meds are you on? Some PD meds can give you red rashes but I'm not sure they itch

Sorry, somehow I didn't see this. Fortunately, my mom's problem resolved with eczema cream. I appreciate your taking the time to reach out.

It might be chilblains which can cause red swollen patchy areas to form on your hands and feet. Usually flares up during the colder months and goes away once the temperatures warm up. I get it every winter and it's quite annoying.
