Magnesium treonate.

Is it effective for sleeping?

Does it improve motor symptoms?

I sleep little, about 4 hours, taking Zolpiden 10mg. And I'm losing my balance. I'd like to hear about your experiences. Thank you.

I sleep for about four hours. Like clockwork tremors start at four am.

Take my first dose of levodopa 6:30 then off to sleep for an hour.

Maybe my imagination, subtle effect, but I feel more comfortable at night.

I am taking it but no results yet..

If I stopped, might not miss it. Was probably my imagination and the fact another pwp felt it helps. Subtle is still a positive direction

I can safely say that Mg-threonate dramatically improved the quality of my sleep.

It also has some other alleged benefits in the brain.

Should add: I hear similar comments from other users of Mg-T, whether or not they have PD.

My husband takes magnesium threonate along with his B1, he has always been a sound sleeper before dx of Parkinson’s and sleeps pretty well now.

I think the magnesium relaxes muscles, he has never had tremor at night. He just seems to relax as soon as he goes to bed and sleeps for 8 to 9 hours only interrupted by bathroom visits and sometimes dreaming.

I wish I slept so soundly, I don’t have Parkinson’s and resort to zolpidem as well! I find them amazing for sleep but I only take 2.5 mgs when needed.

I also use lavender and chamomile pillow sprays and essential oils, they seem to help as well.

I sleep 4 hours, however MT does not help me and I take every evening. Valerian root and melatonin some nites. If very bad .25 Clonzapam. MM works sometimes to go to sleep but still only 4 hours.

I've taken NOW brand Magtein (Magnesium Threonate), 1 capsule after supper, 2 capsules at bedtime for almost a year. They, along with 6mg melatonin and my Rytary dose at bedtime, have improved the quality of my sleep. Unfortunately what wakens me is a full bladder around 3 am. I then chew a sugar-free Melatonin 3mg, and usually go back to sleep 3-4 more hours.

I bought some Dr. Jockers "Brain Calm Magnesium"powder which includes 3 types of magnesium, including threonate (haven't opened the container yet), but I'm sticking with the less expensive NOW capsules since they are working for me.

Lemon balm is also helpful.

I think Mag T seems helps with tremor, not sleeping for me so far.

All bioavalable forms of Mag may assist in sleeping. Other more cost effectove forms include Mag malate and Mag glycinate. Other sleep aid supplements you may want to consider are 5HTP, glycine, phosphatidyl serine.
