I’ve been on prostrate drugs (tamsulosin) for some months but eventually had to ditch it because of its strong side effects (low blood pressure). So when I came across the terazosin story I jumped at the chance to try it only to find that it was in short supply here in the uk. My pharmacist did eventually get hold of some but it seemed to have the same negative impact on orthostatic hypotension so regrettably I couldn’t continue. The negative side effects just outweighed the potential benefits.

My husband changed from Tamulosin to Terrazozin in December for the potential benefit of helping with his PD. He has meds for BP so was able to cut out Losartan, with GP help. His blood pressure is similar now so no probs with that.

Added in Azilect from Neuro but can only take half a dose as dyskinesia was much worse. Added in Amantadine this seems to be helping with dyskinesia. Has cut down C/L to 3 x 100/25 and one half dose since taking the Azilect!

Seems to be doing well at the moment. Since dx not really increased C/L very much. Still exercises, walks and takes supplements!

These drugs are alpha 1 blockers and they block REM sleep. I tried Terazosin for a few days and my sleep went whacko.

Scheduled completion is August 2020. I would expect a report (if published) sometime in early (1st quarter) 2021. Until then, it is premature to speculate.

Realistically, a very small study (n=20 to start) which would or should raise questions about its relevance, even if a Phase 2. Adverse effects is the issue with his drug and its siblings.

This forum has several previous threads relevant to this drug for anyone who is interested.
