I know fermented foods have been mentioned before but this is an interesting talk on the health benefits, especially if you are thinking about trying probiotics.

I also found some articles on how it may be effective against viruses and work was done a few years ago on this when the bird flu and then SARS was around and is also effective against flu. It might be a good idea to take it in the light of this new virus. Google kimchi virus.

It seems to be the allicin from garlic that helps in it so another product with allicin is Alimed. optimalhealthusa.com/produc...

Kimchi is also rich with Bacillus subtilis (as is a Japanese fermented food called natto).

B subtilis has been shown to kill Staphylococcus bacteria and fungi, which often work together to attack us. And very recently, a study showed that adding B subtilis to roundworms protected them from α-synuclein clumping and even reversed it in some.

So, yay for kimchi!

She mentioned how to make it so I tried to make my first batch last night. Hopefully as easy as she says 🙂

The link between kimchi consumption and increased risk of stomach cancer is just too strong for me to ignore.

This is a good kimchi recipe. Comes out tasting very authentic, delicious either fresh or fermented.

No need to worry about stomach cancer unless you eat massive amounts of fermented/picked high sodium vegetables daily with every meal.
