Which is why I turn down the offer of. flu jab and take a homeopathic remedy for my flu protection.

This sounds interesting. Can you tell us more about it?

It's called Influenzinum 30c. I put one tablet under my tongue once a month October to April. I'm in UK and buy it through Helios Homeopathic Pharmacy. The consultant homeopathic doctor who recommended it said none of his patients had ever got flu. I won't have the flu jab because of the mercury contained in it.

Thanks. I'd still rather have the homeopathic remedy

That is your right. I have always had the flu jab for 21 years now. I have only had flu once 45 years ago.

I am 76 years old, and as far back as I can remember, I have never had the flu. I also, have never had a flu vaccination, nor would I. They aren't effective for the newest strains and they cause harm.

When I get, even the slightest tickle in my throat, I take 4 echinesia tablets. I then wait 4 hours and if the symptoms are still there, I repeat until the symptoms are gone. I also boost up vitamin C.

This is from a well known MD in the US

Flu Shot Effectiveness

Although physicians would like you to believe that the best way to protect yourself from the flu is by getting a flu vaccination, it’s simply not true. Flu shot effectiveness is not 100 percent, so even if you get the vaccine, there’s still a chance you can still get sick. Here’s why: The flu shot’s formula is based on the three or four biggest strains that circulated around the world during the previous flu season. Thus, the experts can’t be sure that the vaccine will always work perfectly in the current season.

Research is starting to support the theory that flu shot effectiveness is not all that it’s hyped to be. A 2014 review involving 90 studies and more than 9 million people concluded that flu shots, “have a very modest effect in reducing influenza symptoms and working days lost in the general population…” The CDC estimated flu shot efficacy for the 2017 to 2018 flu season was 38 percent, and last year’s 2018 to 2019 flu shot was only 29 percent effective.

If you are at very high risk of serious complications from the flu, then a flu shot may be right for you. But for the majority of the population, taking other measures to prevent flu and colds can be just as effective—oftentimes even more effective—than getting vaccinated, should you choose not to get a flu shot.

That you for posting an important rationale.

Well, I drink San Pellegrino at least once a month. I have also not fallen off a mountain ever in my life. That proves that San Pellegrino saves you from falling off of mountains. If I've never had the flu for 80 years, why can't that be because I have good genes that the rest of us don't have? How do we know that people who live to over 100 only do so because it's natural for them to, unlike the rest of us who die at 65, not because they don't take this or that medicine at some point?

References? And making determinations from a single study? Waiting for science offered behind the claims so someone trained can actually weigh the evidence, weigh what is evidence and what is rhetoric or erroneous interpretation assumed them to be evidence, and make determinations FROM the "weight of the EVIDENCE."

Why would anyone interested in the truth, and sharing the truth, and avoiding harmful untruth, not want to present evidence such that the claim can stand on itself rather than just be justified by "because I said so" or "I am a God, you can therefore suspend your intelligence, training, experience, proportion" minds. Why would anyone seriously intend that information not have to trace and trail that verifies it and proves it? That's what I would call trustworthy.

Why would anyone genuine want not to be evidently, EVIDENTLY, shown to be trustworthy? So that the person targeted with the pitch can be trusted to see, decide, and know it for the truth? Why would anyone also not want evidence, to assure everyone that any human being can be flawed and mistaken, despite what they think or thing they see and know, being imperfect, why would they not want evidence so that their own imperfection could also be taken into account and exonerated up into being trust worthy? ("Don't take my word for it, I could be wrong, here is all the evidence so that any reasonable person would conclude that it is true.") So it just seems to me that any intent less than that is not genuine, is simply someone claiming God status saying "Believe on Me."

What about the person who thought jumping off a building was safe? The person standing on a track with his back to an oncoming train who said "things are fine, why turn around, how could I be wrong?" Why would I turn around, that suggests I could be wrong. No way could I be wrong. Things are fine. Homeopathy works. Not taking flu vaccines works. Always. For millions. Flu vaccines kill, always. Right.

The guy falling off the tall building, people on the intermediate floors on the way down heard "So far, so good." Yes, he was right all the way down, each floor, all the way, in his own testimonial case...right up until that very last microsecond. HE WAS RIGHT 99.9999% OF THE TIME. He was only wrong for that tiny last moment. So we should conclude that pretty much most of the time, jumping off a building is ok, harmless? Right.

"...can be," not are. Sorting out which is which is only learned after the fact. Not good enough, given what it's like going through a resistant flu. In my opinion only, of course.

What does homeopathic mean ?

seriously .

Dap1948 profile image
Dap1948 in reply to GymBag

Both homeopathic remedies and vaccinations are giving the body a small amount of something which in a large amount would cause all the symptoms of the disease. However, homeopathy uses minute amounts and homeopathic nosodes do not use live or weakened microbes that could cause chromosomal damage. Vaccines do.

My family also uses homeopathy, but we use oscillococcinum once a month during flu season. I havent had the flu or a flu shot in 25 or 30 years. Neither has my mom, who is 88 yrs old.

I had no side effects from high dose flu shot.

bepo profile image
bepo in reply to pvw2

How do you know? Did it destroy your immune system? What was in the flu shot? Did you read all the side effects?

pvw2 profile image
pvw2 in reply to bepo

Before flu shots, I got the flu twice. After getting flu shots once a year for over twenty years, I haven't got the flu since.

bepo profile image
bepo in reply to pvw2

Have those shots improved your immune system, or harmed it? How would you know?

pvw2 profile image
pvw2 in reply to bepo

What I wonder is if getting more than one flu shot of the course of a year would increase immunity better than a larger dose?

Quote: "Evidence that a high-dose flu vaccine can compensate for this difference originally comes from studies that found higher post-vaccine antibody levels in older adults who received high-dose flu vaccines than in those who received standard flu vaccines."

mayoclinic.org/diseases-con...

The two times I got the flu was every time a flu epidemic hit the U.S. before flu shots. After getting flu shots every year, I never got the flu during any of the flu epidemics in the U.S.

bepo profile image
bepo in reply to pvw2

I don't believe any of it is good. Build up your immune with proper food and nutrients. We don't get sick. My husband got Parkinson's with agent orange, while serving in the US Navy.

in reply to bepo

No vaccine is a benign solution for you or me as individuals The entire purpose is to keep society safe from epidemics by ensuring that there’s no one to spread the disease. Individuals who are affected by adverse effects are just human collateral. This is the entire gist of the vaccine debate and the individual’s right to choose.

Perversely, if you’re not vaccinated and you fall sick and hospitalized, you will be blamed for bringing it upon yourself and also quarantined if they feel that you are a significant risk and threat to others.

It’s really not a matter of choice!

What is so interesting about this topic is to look at how the pharmaceuticals gained so much control around the world. It is appalling! There is a great YouTube video : "The Forbidden Cancer Cures," which primarily addresses cancer treatment and the beginning of the control of the pharmaceuticals. That all occurred in the late 1800's to early 1900's.

Most viruses and bacteria can be eliminated with ozone. If everyone had access to ozone, there would be no need for many pharmaceuticals. Ebola in Sierra Leone was cured in 5 out of 5 patients with ozone. Then, the doctors with this cure were kicked out of the country. Why? Who had the control? Follow the money.

pvw2 profile image
pvw2 in reply to bepo

Ozone immediately reacts with the water in your body to form hydrogen peroxide. The only advantage of ozone over hydrogen peroxide is if you want to apply it to your lungs. Ozone is easy to generate with ultraviolet light or an electric arc. However, most consider ozone a threat to making PD worse (oxidizes levodopa).

bepo profile image
bepo in reply to pvw2

I have been lead to believe the Ozone, (03, turns to oxygen, (02), when it hits your body. I have consulted with MD's in the states who have used ozone therapy since the 1980's.

Thanks. We are fortunate enough to have an ozone sauna. We make sure we do not allow any ozone to escape into the room. We realize that it will promote coughing if we breathe it.

We have an ozone sauna and are very careful to keep from breathing the ozone. Ozone can temporarily irritate the lungs.

My children had the vaccines the doctor prescribed. There were probably a maximum of 7 altogether. I really don't know. Now, by the time children in the US are 18, they will have had 79+ vaccines. Senators in California voted to require all children who attend public school to have vaccinations. There is no more choice? What's wrong with this picture? Pharmaceuticals are powerful. Many senators got kickbacks from the makers of vaccines, including Dr. Richard Pan who received $96,000. He introduced the legislation requiring the vaccinations. They do not work for chronic disease. They may forestall the inevitable, but eventually, individuals will be worse off.

In the U.K. we do not have the high dose vaccine but the quadrivalent vaccine for those over 65

Osidge, essentially the same thing here in the USA . I got my mom vaccinated a few days ago with the “senior” flu shot and they told us that it is basically 4 times the normal adult dose.

Not everyone is going to get side effects from the vaccinations. However it is a tremendous amount that the government has paid out to people hurt by the vaccinations, so there must be something to it.

I am not aware that the U.K. Government has paid out tremendous amounts of money following flu vaccinations.

Thank you for the US figures. A minuscule number of compensation cases compared to the number of vaccinations given. That minuscule number has to be compared to the diseases that have been prevented. Here are the figures for the U.K. compensation scheme. Again, small risk for all the benefits.

in reply to

I agree, Osidge. Rewards outweigh the risks and isn’t that the best goal of modern, western medicine? I can live with that. In fact, I already am and so are you 😎
