They say we don't die from PD. My dad and uncle died of strokes, no signs of dementia preceding it in either man. Uncle crashed his car in San Diego. It took a while to determine that he stroked out first and crashed second. Dad had 2 strokes that left him paralyzed, unable to care for himself without a nurse and finally died in his sleep. I was first seen for PD in the same hospital he had recently been discharged from.
