Had seen prior posts about using Vielight (photobiomodulation). Several seem to be a few years old. Has anyone else tried? Any recent results? What have you noticed?

On clinicaltrials.gov it seems that there are a couple of trials for PD and Alz which that company is involved in but no larger scale results yet.

Appreciate your perspective on if it’s worth ordering.

It did not do anything for me.

Park_bear, may I ask you which one of the Vielight models have you tried and for how long? I am trying to figure out their differences but don't have enough knowledge to make informed decision. I remember you mentioning in the past that your training is in electrical engineering and that part of your work is dealing with EMFs, hence another question - do Vielight devices generate high levels of EMFs ? I understand that all electrical devices do, but to a different degree. Would very much appreciate your response.

I tried the Vielight model 810 Infrared. I did not try it for very long – maybe a week – it made my cheek ache.

You are correct that all electrical devices to generate some EMF. The model I tried just had one LED. It does not take very much current to light up a single LED and they used a low frequency. So EMF emitted by this device would be pretty small.

Thank you for your response. Do you remember if your model was Alpha or Gamma device? Both are 810 nm near infrared, however they differ is in pulse rate - 10 and 40 Hz respectively. According to their website 40Hz is supposed to be more effective for cognition and memory.

The receipt does not identify which one, so it must have been before there were two models, so it was probably the alpha version.

Thanks, then I may want to try the Gamma one and see if it makes any difference.

I had contacted the company and had spoke to Dr Lim. He recommended the Gamma for Parkinson’s, TBI and cognitive. Can add on X Plus if walking an issue. He suggested using while relaxing/taking a nap. We’ve used Gamma only for it a short time so far for family member but walking seems better- less freezing. Was told need about 2-3 months to really judge impact. Talked to someone via FB who’s husband had incredible results. For us, it was too stimulating so switching to every other day initially rather than6 days per week.

Will be interested to hear experience of others.

I'm taking part in the light therapy clinical trial at MGH. I'm halfway through at this point. I feel like I'm sleeping better, but is it the placebo effect? I don't know, but I'll take it! They'll look me up to the eeg in December at the end and look for differences too. rally.partners.org/study/li...

Just started using it for about 2 weeks now, smell seems to have improved slightly but probably way too early to be certain. Going to give it 6 to 8 months

Hi There, I use the Vielight Neuro Gamma & XPlus on a daily basis & have been for about 12 months, is it doing any good? I don't honestly know but I regularly fall asleep whilst using my electric hat (vielight) so at worst it relaxes me at best I am still not on prescription drugs & am not getting any worse but that may be down to the B1 therapy. Would I buy the Vielight again? Yes I think so as it does no harm & may be doing some good.

Happy Christmas to you all
