Visit to Dr. Fancellu

A few days ago I went to Genoa from Dr. Fancellu. The visit was carried with calmly and professionally. It changed something in my B1 intake and recommended various supplements, especially Folic acid and Magnesium. The latter in particular, interacts very well with B1. Exercise is essential, which it is recommended to be performed at least an hour a day every day. He also informed me that some Italian pharmaceutical companies that produce B1 have increased their prices, in one case up to 300%. One piece of news that will please all of us is that Dr. Costantini is recovering from his illness.

I have been really well lately, been doing b1 for 8 months and Coimbra protocol for 6 months. Coimbra calls for lots of magnesium, folic acid and exercise. Look into Coimbra protocol, it’s really working

Fed1000,

Thank you very much for this update! It is good to know that Dr. Fancellu is on top of things regarding HDT/B-1 and even better to know that Dr. Costantini is recovering!!!😌😌😌😌😌

Regarding folic acid, it may be better to use folate (vitamin B-9) instead of folic acid. Dr Costantini also recommended use of small amounts of certain B vitamins.

The magnesium helps convert B-1 to its active form. Did he recommend a specific type of magnesium?

At that type of price increase for B-1, it may be worth having it shipped in from other countries even with the extra postage cost. I asked Vitacost if they ship to other countries and they said yes, so perhaps they will also ship to Italy. I tried to contact them right now to ask, but their "chat service" is closed for the weekend.

They (vitacost) ship to New Zealand so I imagine they ship to Italy.

I'm in the UK & purchase supplements frim Vitacost. I have in the past purchased Solgar B1 from them but when I tried to order Vitacost's own brand I received a message to say the UK government won't allow it.......crazy! I have a friend in New York so I have to get Vitacost to ship to her & then I pay her to ship the package over to me.

Gerry,

I think it is because of the quantity. Vitacost has 300 capsules and the tablets are only 100 tablets. It does seem strange though!

Hi Arte, with regards to Folate, Dr. Fancellu advises me on Citofolin 15 mg. (Dmpé), a pill for lunch. As for Magnesium, he didn't tell me a specific product, he told me about a packet to take in the morning. I bought Mag2 (Sanofi), it's 20 sachets containing 2,25g. of dust.

From their description page, I can't tell if it is folate or folic acid as they seem to use both terms to describe the product.

They should be Folate because the page of description shows: "....the therapeutic indication of Citofolin is the correction of a state of Folate deficiency however realized. Citofolin is therefore indicated in all anemic forms of Folate deficiency and is useful as an antidote to excessive doses of folic acid antagonists and to combat side effects induce by aminopterin or methotrexate".

Hello, I am following this post as my son ,41, has been diagnosed Parkinson recently. I have asked him to start B1 few weeks before. I suggested him 1.5gr/day. solgar. We will follow the impact if any and adjust by ourselves the dosage. Magnesium also is not new to me, but folic acid yes. Any info about recommended dosages for them. Thank you so much for your informations.
