Called my pcp just now and they said they would ask doc if he would write script for sinemet cr, will see what happens.

For now i decided to reduce dosage from 1250 to 1000 a day. ill take 125mg every 3 hours 8 times a day(total 1000mg daily), hoping that will reduce the "off" periods which are running about 90 min and increase the "on" time which is also about 90 min and it may help the bad dyskinsia side effects being caused by to much c/l

And if doc writes the sinemet cr script, ill report back on that

PS. would not wish PD on my worst enemy

I suffer from dyskinesia pretty much all of the time I am on. I don't take any meds at night or I would never sleep. I tried the ER version and it didn't work for me, but it does work for many. I take c/l 10/100, 1/2 of a pill about every hour from 9:30 am until 5:30pm (more if I do anything in the evening). I think it is good to try to slowly reduce your dose, paying close attention to how you feel. Of course, consulting with your doctor is always recommended.

I understand the Consulting with the doctor that you made but really it's all trial and error they don't know I was trying it ourselves probably a quicker way to get to a solution anyway that's just my two cents in a nickel

My doc put me on both c/l extended release and rapid release. One tab each, every 5 hrs, 4x daily. Works well for me

My previous reply was meant to suggest that smaller doses closer together may help to reduce both off time and dyskinesia. I hope your PCP will be supportive where your neurologist has not.
