This looks very interesting. I'm going to have my husband put some lifts under the bed, but I think we'll start with 2" and work our way up.

I’m thinking the same thing.

Thanks, Ian. Just an observation. I've suffered from varicose veins for over 60 of my 84 years of life. I was often told to elevate the bottom of the bed to help the blood flow upward in legs congested through faulty valves. My husband reduced the upper legs of the bed for me and my legs immediately looked better in the morning. They don't stay that way once I'm upright. I'm wondering how lying at a downward slope can reduce the congestion.

All the best,

Mitzi

From what I can gather from the website, just being inclined encourages improved circulation - not sure how scientific the information is, though...

Because of GERD, I have used an inclined bed for 15 years. Diagnosed with PD seven years ago. I have the symptoms you listed, e.g. sleep fragmentation, nocturnal urinary frequency, etc. would they have been worse if my bed were flat? How can I Tell?

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you - will update with my findings in a few weeks...

Having PD, I only noticed that it really helped with varicose veins.

I have just started(3 weeks ago) sleeping with my bed inclined. What has improved substantially are my sleeping patterns. From very little and largely interrupted sleep, to five/six continuous hours of sleep each night. Of course I am hoping to build on this!

I did a 9 month experiment with a 6" lift at the headboard end of my bed, because it was suggested in the article I read on the topic that it might help my psoriasis and act as a traction device to help a back ache I had at the time. For me it was ineffective for the purpose of my experiment and I felt that 9 months was plenty of time to give inclined bed therapy a reasonable amount of time for the test. Btw, that 6" lift looked and felt a lot higher than I was expecting and it took some getting used to the 6" lift as it often felt that I could start sliding toward the foot of the bed very easily.

I realize that there are people who claim it helps them for various health issues, but for me, not so much.

So sorry, Art! We grasp every opportunity we get to improve our health conditions. We tried it last night but we only inclined it, actually the mattress (TEMPUR-PEDIC with remote control) 2 ". I am not sure if that was the reason my husband's nycturia improved 50% or it was the Melatonin supplement (2 mg) he started which was recommended by Dr. Mischley. Another supplement she wanted him to start was/is CBD by Douglas Laboratories (DB). I couldn't buy it on Amazon or DB website, they want a code given by our doctor.

Ian, Thank you for sharing IBT. I am not quite sure if that worked for my husband last night or something else. Even if it was placebo effect, he still had good results. :)
