23 day cycle in Parkinsons

I had a very bad. day yesterday. Both physically and mentally, emotionally. Has anybody else had a bad day yesterday? Also I slept during the day on and off. I'm talking about the bell curve where on day one is a bad day on day 11 and a half you're feeling great and on day 23 it's a bad day again. This was an especially bad cycle. Thanks for answering Sun.25 08 2019

Hi there. Have had trouble sleeping because of the pain these last two night. Slept this afternoon and thigh muscles are weak

I had weak calves and thighs and also I had like a creepy crawly sensation in my calves. At night it kept me from sleeping, I got up and I ran in place, I used the massager on my calves, and I used to liquid magnesium on my calves. After all that I was able to go back to sleep.

I think I might have applied the mag oil first and then do the exercises to see if the exercises could be additive to the mag oil and the mag oil could pre-loosen the muscles prior to the exercise.

Mary, my husband's symptoms have been intense the last two days. I have attributed it to weather change.

This cycle has been awful.

Perhaps due to Nature changing "dress"? Even people without PD feel the tension (me :) )

Hang in there, good days will return!

I had an excellent day. I relaxed and pottered around the house and ate a lot of chocolate. By bedtime, 6 hours after last madapor, I still felt good. I wondered if it was the chocolate, or the laziness. Not so good on Monday, but I played tennis and worked, but no chocolate 🙁. Chocolate will be my next experiment 🤓.

Maybe it’s because I’m in the Southern Hemisphere?

Dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa) is very good for you. Has little sugar. I use the 85% cocoa Lindt or Freys.

I too have had a bad week. Anxiety is at an all time high though motor symptoms no worse than usual. Haven't been counting days.

One can always change one's emotional state in a positive way without a reason. A being causes his emotions and can transmit them to others: try to believe. We learn it by observing children. I try to make my life beautiful and interesting, but this also requires care and responsibility that is will and ability. Maybe.

Oh I do believe...but it isn't easy for me as I ask why do my legs freeze in place. To make myself move requires all the strength I have left. Too tired to tune the radio to favorites. Too down to smile. My partner is in no way neat and cleaning zaps the bits of get up and go the determination and I wonder is it time for me to hire a helper? Yes. I just cannot take care of me and house. And the home business. I continue managing that even though he should take over. OK that is prep work. When we feel powerless the rest of our support group help us one step and a time. Smile. It helps that last anxious thought past on by. I can get this done. I can I will. There it is done. Move on!

I wonder if all the patients he talks about in the other post are in the same hemisphere. My husband has been worse for weeks but we are in the south in NZ so winter here. Today he says he feels very bad. But he has said the same thing every day for weeks now.

I did start tracking a pattern last year. It wasn’t always 23 days but it was cyclical. Then from feb (on (Hardy’s) he was great. He had a bad day on 3 May 2019, then mid June he plummeted and hasn’t got better over winter.

I suspect it is all to do with circadian rhythms and the shorter daylight hours. He has always had SAD and each year it’s worse. I think when he first had the bad day in May he slept in longer, and each day he gets up later and I am sure that makes him worse the next day and so on.

Here is a list of very bad days I noted down that he had last year (2018) from his daily diary until I stopped recording.

23 May 26 days to

18 June 23 days to

11 July 25 days to

5 August 21days
