Hi all
This is a link to my vlog about seborrheic dermatitis in PD.
Cheers,
Ian
My husband had to deal with this as well. It was well controlled for many years by washing his face daily with the anti-dandruff shampoo as you mentioned. It did become worse after being diagnosed with Parkinson's but I contrite the flare up's more due to all of the antibiotics that he had to be on for the various infections that he dealt with.
Hello Ian!
A good way to fight seborrheic dermatitis: Take a piece of cotton, saturate it with food grade hydrogen peroxide and clean your face. When it's dry apply "RetinA" which is a topical vitamin A cream. It's a prescription med.
Very interesting...I had had seborrheic dermatitis (scalp, eyebrows) for ten years before diagnosed with PD. I have asked my neurologist if there was any connection but she said no...
Hello Ian...I enjoy your videos and always learn something. This sounded very familiar. I had sebborheic dermatitis at various stages for many (15) years or more before seeing symptoms of PD. I also had thyroid cancer in 2012 and went on a "cancer diet", eliminating all starches and sugars in my diet with a rigorous elimination of Candida and using paw paw capsules to rid the body of cancer causing toxic wastes. I was on this for 3 months. My dermatitis was gone in just weeks on this regimen. It never returned nor the itching that just about drove me nuts. Now and then I may get a few little blisters on my head but they go away and no flaking at all. I often wondered why but I think it was the build up of Candida and toxic wastes associated with it that caused it. Paw paw is now banned in Canada but I think may be available in US. It might have been the combination with paw paw or just the Candida regimen...Not sure what actually killed the fungus or yeast build up. It sure was worth the effort. I also cut out all gluten after that and never returned to eating it.
