C/L CR with food?

Many places it is written to avoid taking C/L with food. I think this to avoid the C/L absorption problems when the meal contain protein, and also, I guess if you take the C/L immediately after a large meal, it could be a while before the C/L reaches the small colon (where it can be absorbed)...

But I also see this:

rxlist.com/sinemet-cr-drug.htm

"The extent of availability and peak concentrations of levodopa after a single dose of SINEMET CR 50200 increased by about 50% and 25%, respectively, when administered with food."

This suggests to me that the may be a benefit to taking controlled release C/L with a small amount of food as long as is doesn't contain protein...

And a possible explanation for his may be that when there is food present, there is more acid/enzymes present in the stomach to break down the controlled release tablet more quickly and thus free up more of the C/L (p.s. I know next to nothing about how the stomach works)...

Any thoughts on this?

Personal experience (nearly five yrs post diagnosis and only taking Sinemet CR) is that food negatively interacts with how effective I notice it working. I'd also read that research before but can't agree with it in my own personal experience.

I take c/l controlled release with food and don’t notice a difference in how well it works. I have no nausea if I take it with food. I have seen a few others report the same thing. I may have been so nauseated (which was awful) that I couldn’t notice any improvement. LOL.
