Looking for others in this situation. My does not have tremors. He has stiffness in the body. Mentally he has slowed down. His cognitive abilities have been affected.

The downhill trend has been very rapid.

To whom are you referring? Your husband, or father? Non-tremor dominant Parkinson's is quite common. How old is he? How long has he had it? And, what meds is he taking? Rapid decline, especially cognitively could indicate Lewy Body Dementia.

I have all those symptoms except the rapidity of change, that would be most worrying and not as usual. Juliegrace has a point.

Juliegrace is correct. A lot more information is needed. You should be asking a neurologitst, not a website, for a correct diagnosis.

My husband does not have tremors but he has stiffness and was diagnosed last year although we think he had signs 2 years ago. Mentally he has slowed down and he’s very very slow.he had a brain scan but no Lewy bodies were found or sighted. Only recently ..i mean a few weeks ago he started taking madopar. But he’s having all kinds of self made stress and he’s very compulsive.Hes on a very small dosage and I’m sure he will have to increase his dosage before we can see any result.Downward trend was too rapid and that’s why we decide to see a private dr before seeing a govt. dr and start medication. Although a small dosage there is a slight improvemnet

Hi there . I’m so sorry you and your husband are having medication difficulties. Maybe that medication isn’t the right one for your husband. You have the right to say this one is not working for us and is causing extreme side effects . And ask for a different one. I know you don’t want to just “hop on and hop off” medications but if it’s not working ..... I am on cd/ld 6 x 25/100, Azilect 1 a day and 1 Comtan cut in half taken with my cd/ld afternoon doses. I take 1/2 of a Modafinil on some mornings for fatigue. I was diagnosed in 2013 at the age of 49. Looking back there were signs years prior as well. Just remember yours and your husbands opinions matter and don’t take no for an answer if you both are uncomfortable with the meds. I’m not sure if your in the states because I know there’s certain meds available elsewhere. Take care . Karen
