Any one had colonoscopy?

I would like to know if anyone had a colonoscopy and if there were any issues. Was the medication interrupted a day prior the test? I'm taking 2x100 amantadine and 3x100/2/5 c/l and 2g B1 HCl and 2000 UI D3 per day. I'll have mine next Monday in the morning at 8.45 am.

Thank you.

I had a colonoscopy. I only took rytary at the time and instructed to continue to take it... note rytary is a special time release formulation of c/l and I could see the little particles of the rytary in the colonoscopy pictures afterwards. But there was no issue with it...

I had one 4 years ago before I was diagnosed with PD. Dad has had 2 recently and stayed on sinemet. You won't be worrying about constipation for a few days

It was full or only local anesthesia?

Mine was without anaesthesia. I think Dad had a sedative. It's not as big a deal as some make out. At least it wasn't for me

I don’t believe I had to stop any medication. I’m not on PD meds. They will let you know. If you have questions ask the pharmacist when you pick up the liquid to drink. Beware it is not very tasty. Use diaper rash medication before you start and after you use the toilet each time. I used Desitin. Also use baby wipes. If not you will get very raw. I wish I would have known this before my first one. After the second one I was fine. I was lightly put under the first one. The second time I chose to stay awake. I was sorry. It was very uncomfortable at times, somewhat painful.

Finish the solution you drink beforehand. I was there when a couple of people didn’t get clean. They didn’t follow directions. They had to return and repeat their colonoscopy. You don’t want to have to do that.
