Doxycycline.— Parkinson’s.

Two more points of information for those of you either taking it or thinking about taking doxycycline

1). It is also used for rheumatoid arthritis because it has been found to have a profound anti inflammatory effect.

2) when used for arthritis it is sometimes close to I year before the patient starts to notice improvement and also during that time they sometimes feel a little worse before beginning to feel better. So persistence and patience is required There is also with rheumatoid a thought that some sort of bacteria may be a factor.

I think we must assume the same persistence must apply to Parkinson’s people giving it a try Good luck. Bubee.

Google minocycline or doxycycline both tetracycline family —and rheumatoid arthritis —and read some of the research papers on The NIH website or Johns Hopkins . The research papers for Parkinson’s have been posted on this this site. Very interesting reading. Bubee

I know MMS sounds scary, but would it kill off something that could cause inflammation. I don't know much about it, but I find it interesting. I'm researching on it now. Just read a post on here , how it helped their dad or saw improvement in symptoms.

Apparently at low dose it’s ok but read the research papers before you decide. People with acne have taken it long term with no ill effect including me years back. Took it for at least a year and was fine. Bubee

Do you have Pd? Have you thought about using for PD to see if has any symptom relief?

My husband has Parkinson's. He started on doxycycline about four weeks ago. So far have not seen much change but his doc gave us a one year prescription so will keep taking it .

I took it well over a year at 100 mgms daily with no side effects for acne.its prescribed regularly for acne with good results. My husband has started it for his Parkinson's and so far no side effects-- it's worth a try . What does he have to lose? Bubee
