Another video series on how diet choices affect health. I haven’t watched any of it yet but here is the link to sign up for it. number 1 and 2 are live today. It’s free to watch.

Ps I have now watched these. Nothing new yet except perhaps for new people who haven’t considered the effects of their diet.

I have an undiagnosed metabolic disorder that causes spices and acids in foods to produce crystals in my urine. I have gastroparesis which makes fiber a poor food choice for me. I have chronic kidney disease which requires limiting protein, phosphorus and potassium. Due to these problems, I no longer investigate diets and food choices since what applies to most people doesn't apply to me, generally speaking. I agree that most articles about food choices are reruns of previously published facts.

Did you every try a sugar free, gluten free whole food mainly plants diet in your search for answers? Did it cause problem?

No, I've never tried diets, except a diet of eliminating foods that don't agree with me. I know I should be eating more vegetables. I can eat bananas and apples, but most other fruits have too much acid for me.

I found eliminating sugar and gluten and deep fried and processed food from my husband’s diet made a big difference to him. He used to regularly wake up feeling ill and like he was getting the flu. At least once a month. Often when he had been at a bridge tournament and eaten the afternoon tea or had takeaways. He hasn’t had a sicky day now for months! The other morning he felt a bit nauseous when he woke up and when I asked what he had eaten at bridge the night before he sheepishly said he had a few chippies/crisps. He really can not tolerate any of those foods now but feels so much better off them.

That's marvelous that your husband has responded so well to dietary changes. My daughter is on a gluten-free diet. I can tolerate gluten OK but have problems with spices and acids in foods.

That’s a shame. I watched an interesting series that said food Intolerances can be because of missing bacteria in the gut or not enough digestive enzymes. So I put my husband on digestive enzymes too. He also takes Restore Gold the PD product which has tudca which is a bile product and Hardy’s greens and probiotics too so who knows if they help. Something is working thankfully!

Thanks for the information. I may try taking some digestive enzymes to see if that will help me. You are a good caregiver for your husband. I took care of my mother during her last few years. They were some of the happiest times of my life as we had a lot of laughs. She had an irreverent sense of humor that alleviated a lot of stress.

That’s ok. Makes you think. I think I will be going gluten free too, and encouraging my kids too.
