Too much B1: How did you know?

For those doing B1 protocol, if you were on too high of a dose and had to back off, how did you know? was it b/c you felt worse overall or did just 1 symptom get worse? I am freezing more but it could just be a coincidence.

If symptoms worsen, then you must cut down on your dose. What is your daily dose of B1?

I am on 2 grams per Dr. C. Started on 1.5 but didn't notice any effect.

I have been trying the B1 protocol at 100mg prior to breakfast another 100mg prior to lunch ...when I jump too 500mg I shake more in my left arm/hand . Doing 250mg just to see how I go. So far seem to have less of tremor and feel good. I have had PD for 4 years and am on no meds. Exercise is certainly best way I have found to slow progression.

For me, when I'm on too much B1 I feel more agitated and hyper. Also my movement is a little more difficult. I would recommend you take a week off B1 and monitor whether your freezing improves.

When symptoms get worse at higher dose, have you backed off your C/L doses? Or not. Not whether to back off on C/L before or after raising dose of B1.

Sorry. Should read ‘not sure whether’

No. I have no indication that i should back off. I am already on a low dose.

When I was taking too much I was shaky - when normally I don't suffer with tremor - and extremely anxious. I had to stop testing new doses before Christmas when my husband was away a lot as the anxiety was so bad it affected my ability to look after house/kids etc.

Will recommence soon. I was in contact with Dr C but may try by myself as I know what I'm looking for...

I'm on 1.5 gms, and back off now, and then for a day, or half a day when things don't feel right. Look through Easily's posts on HDT. They are extensive, and extremely helpful. It's my go to for HDT help.

Thank you! How do I look up Easily's posts?

Type in HDT (stands for high dosage thiamine} in the search box at the top right.

It will take you to a ton of info, but scroll down the page to the last 5 biggies...you'll see where Easily, and others have kept things together for us. There are over 600 posts....Make sure you stay in the Parkinson's community, sometimes it slips, and there will be non relevant info.

You can also do a member search, go to members at the top, type in easily, or Easily...he's known as Art too. Let me know if you need help.

Roy Prop is another great source, he really got us all interested in trying out b1 !

You're welcome, and ( forgot to mention) if you have Facebook, ask to join Roy Prop's HDT site, there you'll receive a lot of help, say you are from HU....I don't have FB, not savvy enough to deal with it..and don't have kids around :)
