The association between WMLs and both motor symp-toms and non-motor symptoms such as anxiety, depression, fatigue, and HrQoL has been well defined in this study. Supposing WMLs are associated with non-motor symptoms in PD, strict control and prevention of WMLs would improve non-motor symptoms in PD. Prospective confirmation of the possible role of WMLs in non-motor symptoms associated with PD may have a considerable
impact not only on our understanding of non-motor
symptoms in this condition but also on the development
of treatment strategies.
