Mannitol Brand Recommendations?

I am interested in beginning the mannitol protocol in conjunction with HDT. Can anyone in the States recommend a brand? I’ve been looking on Amazon and other sites but really would like a recommendation from someone who has been taking it and feels that there is a benefit. You also may want to consider Vinpocetine. I’ve been taking it for a month and my husband remarked today” your tremor is gone”. This was his observation after a week of lots of holiday events together. It’s been the icing on the cake for me!

Started at 30mg daily per the bottle. 10mg 3 times daily w/food for better absorption. Have since read studies at 60mg daily.

I think that 10mg would be about 2 tsp if taking a powder, but it looks like the product vinpocetine comes in a capsule 10mg recommended up to 3x daily on the bottle.

Vinpocetine is available in 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg and 30 mg dosages as well as bulk powder of which Bulk Supplements is the lowest price while Pure Bulk does not carry it and Blackburn Distributions is expensive at $119.42 for just 10 grams. Nutrivita only offers it in kilos and one kilo is $5,650, making it one of the more expensive herbs, but then again, recommended dosing is fairly low.

Some studies used a 30 mg dose, but they were often intravenous delivery in those studies.

10g would be 2 tsp, 10 mg would be a tiny amount.

Do you take something else? Husband is taking b1, but I have read not always improves tremor which is his major symptom

There are 26 forum members who have reported that their tremor has improved to as low as zero tremor from adding HDT to their meds and or other supplements. Unfortunately, tremor is generally one of the last motor symptoms to improve and can take many months and may require adjusting whatever form of levodopa the person is taking in order to get optimum tremor improvement. Not all of the HDT symptom benefits come at once, similarly to how they came, it may just be one at a time, over a period of time. Just thought I would mention that in case you were not aware of it.

Keeping in touch with Dr. C is most helpful and dropping him a line every so often allows him to see if there is any adjustments he can make to try and improve your situation. When it comes to motor symptoms like tremor, he will also adjust your levodopa dose if you allow him to for the purpose of possibly improving the tremor response to HDT + Levodopa as they are synergistic together. It just takes a quick note from you to exercise that option if you ever want to!

Get my mannitol from US from syncolein.com. Don McCammon is doctor who uses mannitol and this his company. Very reliable supplier. Why use amazon when can get from source?

Syncolein recommends 3 to 4 months before positive results are seen. Is this what you found to be true in your case or was it different for you? They also recommend one tablespoon dosing (one tablespoon scoop included) if you are under 200 lbs and 1 1/2 tablespoons if you are 200 lbs or more. Is this the dosing you have found useful? Have you tried taking mannitol and the alpha galactosidase individually as a cheaper alternative to Syncolein? They recommend Syncolein be taken with coffee so that the caffeine can possibly improve transport across the BBB, is this how you take it and do you think the coffee/caffeine helps? Syncolein's protocol and directions seem very straightforward and to the point. When I tried to find this kind of information on the clinic crowd site, it seemed much less straightforward. Their product and protocol seem to be easy to use, just a little pricey for the benefit of having the alpha galactosidase already mixed in at the right amount, but I guess convenience comes at a cost so they can still make a reasonable profit! It is cheaper to buy and use mannitol and alpha galactosidase separately, but definitely less convenient.

I buy powdered mannitol from Bulk Supplements online. I also buy powdered mucuna puriens, tumeric and carnosine from them and mix into my hot coffee or green tea in the a.m. 1tablespoon of mannitol and 1/4 tsp of the others plus some almond milk.
