As usual for this type of article, I feel encouraged yet frustrated. I understand the need for caution, but there are those of us who would take any of those three molecules just to help move it along. Then again, maybe not just yet.

Anyway, it's interesting and thanks for sharing.

"The researchers emphasized that much more research needs to be done before their findings can be applied to humans, but if further experiments support their results,. . ."

Count the times he have read this statement from various researchers! It's getting old. How about a cure or a definite halt of progression? Until then, we have B1!!!

Do you believe that b1 actually stops the progression?

This report does sound very encouraging, like maybe this is an answer to hope. I wonder how long it would take for further experiments before anything could come for a human trial basis?

The study was led by Ted Dawson . If anyone is interested in getting more information, here is his email tdawson@jhmi.edu

So interesting. There seem to be so many possible cures but nothing seems to actually come through. What are you most positive about iqbaliqbal?

many things are going on in an encouraging direction. The gene therapy is the most encouraging one. Living cells technologies Inc. have their own positive results from their phase 2 trial. There is some hope attached to International Stem Cell Corp ongoing hpnsc trial as well.

A lot of research is taking place and the segments of the picture are getting closer together

That’s interesting. Where are they based? What about ntcell? Interesting times. What about the gut? Any thoughts?

LCT is an Australasian biotechnology company. LCT’s lead product NTCELL is an alginate coated capsule containing clusters of neonatal porcine choroid plexus cells. After transplantation, NTCELL functions as a biological factory producing nerve growth factors to promote new central nervous system growth and repair disease induced nerve degeneration.

International Stem Cell Corporation (ISCO) is US based biotechnology company

ISCO is focused focused on using hpSC to treat severe diseases of the nervous syste. Its currently in Phase-II

Preliminary research has pointed out a possible link between bacteria in the intestines and Parkinson’s disease (PD). The studies are focused on role of gut microbiome in Parkinson’s. The goal is to determine if changes made to bacteria in the intestinal tract might help to alter, and possibly interrupt, disease progression. It will still require a lot of time to arrive at any conclusion.

I am also excited about the experiments on different herbs to treat Parkinson's. Following is an example

Voyager Theraupetics is also carrying out a trial of their gene therapy known as VY-AADC. Although it will not cure the disease, it will greatly diminish the symptoms and reduce the need for C/L
