Hello

I am just wondering what med combos everyone is taking and does it work? How long since diagnosis? Tried and fails? Thanks everyone. I am currently on C/L 25/100 ER 3 x day and Requip 0.5 mg 3 x day. Titrating up on the requip because it made me so drowsy. I am 2 years since diagnosis but have had parkinsons for about 4-5 years.

Does this combination work well for you how would you say you are doing?

I'd say that I'm doing well given the length of time that I've had the disease. Motor symptoms are not bad: I can still walk 10 miles in a day; I have tremor for, perhaps two hours per day; I have no dyskinesia. Less good are the non-motor symptoms: constipation has the biggest impact on my QOL; I have poor posture, a stoop and a lean.

Sinemet 25/100's 4 times/day. Benztropine 1/2 mil, twice per day. B1, 250 mg per day. 2 years diagnosed. Resting tremor left hand. Tremor almost completely gone. I noticed a significant improvement when I started taking B1. I'm hoping to ween myself off all meds and just take B1. I'm am going to back off the Sinemet. Going to 3 times/day. After a week, if I don't notice any change, I'll back off to 2 times/day. I would like to get off all medications. Tired of the nausea, lack of energy, lack of motivation, poor focus and concentration. When I wake up in the morning, my 1st thought is how long till I can take a nap!

What is benztropine

Benzatropine is an anticholinergic drug used in patients to reduce extrapyramidal side effects of antipsychotic treatment. Benzatropine is also a second-line drug for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It improves tremor, and may alleviate rigidity and bradykinesia.[1] Benzatropine is also sometimes used for the treatment of dystonia, a rare disorder that causes abnormal muscle contraction, resulting in twisting postures of limbs, trunk, or face.

6.5 years post diagnosis (per day)

Azilect (Rasagiline) 1 x 1mg

Rytary (time release C/L) 4 x 180 mg

Neupro patch 1 x 4 mg

C/L 25/100 1/2 x 3 (as needed)

Also take a number of vitamins and supplements

Left side weakness, overall slowness and stiffness (little to no tremor).

Cut back 50 mg per dose, 200 mg per day, on Rytary recently due to some dyskinesia -- helped a lot. I've been on 6 mg Neupro in the past; also cut dosage.

This combo seems to be working well for me right now; my doc stresses consistency and to stay on adjusted dosages for 3 months to determine effectiveness.
