I’m on the injections.....7 months....break of 3 months....back on now 1 month.

Definite improvement . BUT is it the Exenatide or the 1000mg B1 or combination.

Also around same time started Magnesium at night.

Dystonia has gone. Always there when I woke in the morning.

Longer between meds, Slight dizziness all day . Very overwhelming prior.

HOWEVER my balance is appalling and I have bruising and soreness from frequent falls. Why I haven’t broken a bone is just down to luck. Reading glasses only.

My stick goes with me everywhere. My walking frame at home only.

I just feel different though especially when sitting ....call it ‘normal ‘ until I stand .

Hard to explain. Of course, as I write sitting in bedroom chair, my lower back is kicking me and that pain is an ageing problem only but uncomfortable.

I have to put up with it because too early to start meds (Madopar). I have been up since 4.00 am. The Madopar kicks in quickly and I have been on it since 2005.

The only way now, is to stop the B1 and see what eventuates. That’s the easiest way, B1 i began in the 3 month break from Exenatide and it was only when that (E) was added that I began to feel ‘normal ‘.

I’m optimistic and thankful I don’t have other problems and perhaps I should purchase a Crash Helmet to save my head in these falls. I do intend to use our Gym especially the Bike to build up muscle strength.

It’s a wait and see game for me anyway.

Bridielena again. Also started Curcumin recently.....not sure of the spelling.

What type of Curcumin are you taking Bridielena?

Chewy Orange lozenges NATURES WAY 1000mg.

I live in Australia so don’t know if available in the USA but you must be able to purchase similar.......I chew 2 daily.

Thanks Bridielena. We're in the UK but I've never heard of chewy orange lozenges; I'll look up on Nature's Way. How is the taste?

There are so many different types of turmeric - it's confusing which one is best. The other day on HU Sunvox advocated using Theracurmin but they're a little pricey.

Yes like a Jube Lolly. Easy to take.

Kids could easily eat them ....too many. ....... I don’t know if one can overdose on them but it would be easy to do so.

Are you enrolled in clinical study? And are you diabetic as well? I didn’t realize E was being Rx’d for PD in USA anyways?

No. No clinical study. Not Diabetic. Just Parkinsons.

Have wonderful Neurologist who is happy for me to try anything within reason and as it was in the medical journal The Lancet gave me the prescription. Yes it’s for diabetics. Here, in Australia apparently, as it’s already been approved for something else, it could be prescribed for me although, I must pay for it. Very doable $140 Australian for 4 Injections. It’s on the ‘free list’ for diabetics. They pay something though.

Oh and it’s being trialed in the USA for Parkinsons anyway. I first heard about Exenatide years ago and had chalked it up on my board....GO BYETTA....taken several years but it’s in its final stages.

Today I have gone all morning without Meds. It’s amazing. Actually went out without worrying about having Meds in my bag in case. It’s only been a week in this long journey so I suspect it will be a while before I can truely believe in this ‘turnaround’.

I’m not stopping B1 or Curcumin.

Good luck. Go ask your physician if you can try Exenatide (Byetta).

Do you know if the dose you're taking is different from that given for diabetes?

No I don’t Juliegrace. I know I’m on the maximum dose though (2 mg)

If you are feeling good and not experiencing any adverse effects is not necessary to stop either the B1 or the exenatide out of curiosity because it is likely that both are contributing to your improvement.

Thanks . I intend to now. Why change something that’s proving to be adequate to my needs,eh!

I hope I don’t wake up and just been a dream.

in reply to Bridielena

The magnesium is synergistic with the thiamine, aside from its other beneficial effects.

I knew that so approached my Neurologist who was only too happy to prescribe it for me. He had seen the Lancet Report on it too.

7 months on it though didn’t change a thing. It’s only since my 3 month break off it and starting the regime again along with 1000 mg B1 and Curcumin that this ‘turnaround ‘ is actually, really happening......what one is the ‘deliverer’ I know not, but I’m on a good thing and I’ll stick to it.

Mind you when you see the Exenatide injection you feel daunted as it’s huge. It has to be mixed in the vial by shaking the two components and that’s tiring.....must be well. mixed with no floating particles. Once mixed you must inject it immediately. Can’t be premixed. I have a Nurse come to do the dirty work as I can’t and my Husband shakes and nearly passes out. It goes in ones tummy area.

Interesting eh!
