I run 4 or 5 times a week and have been a “runner” since I was 14 and now I’m 52. When I start my run I feel a slight wobbly sense that I know I didn’t have 10 years ago. The point of my post though is to say that when I do my 5 minute fast walk after my run I feel 100% balanced.

.

Run because your body is telling you it can remember how to be balanced.

Yes, I've felt that feeling & it usually helps to run a little, but you can't always do that. I also sometimes walk on my tip toes.

Hi - search on Google and YouTube for festination, sounds like that’s what you mean.

I used to run every day for about 25 years when I had back surgery and switched to walking. Ten years later (roughly) I got PD and I was unable to move fast enough to run. Walking was slower, too. A couple of years after diagnosis, I was out walking (at a leisurely pace) with my family when I got exactly the feeling you describe. If I didn't go faster and faster I would fall over. This led me to running, and I couldn't stop without falling. I tried to grab a mailbox as I stopped but I ended up falling hard. No broken bones, fortunately.

Neurologist said that what happened was common in PD and if it kept happening they would adjust meds. It never happened again.
