Walking problem

I just lost this post. Pressed the back arrow looking for a way to title a photo. Sorry if this comes up as a repeat. It's about the severe pain in the front of my knee. I've had rigidity in the thigh muscle for a while, pulling on the hamstrings. All the advice about walking therapy is academic if my legs fail. Is this the beginning of the end? Picture is my prize carrot, prized by me at any rate.

Johnmo,

Have you tried topical magnesium oil rubbed into your legs? It can relieve pain while allowing the muscles to relax. The relaxed muscles can relieve pressure on the knee joints.

Have you discussed with your neurologist an increase in your dose of L/C?

Thanks for the tips. I'd better make an appointment with the nurse. I'll ask the pharmacist. Maybe even call the doctor. I wasn't expecting ti's sort of development

The pain around your knee are likely the insertions of an unhappy muscle. Press on the painful spots around your knee then work your way backwards up the thigh, along the painful areas. This will locate the muscle. Then sit on floor or couch with your leg extended and supported. Take a rolling pin and roll out the painful areas, say for 5-10 minutes twice a day until pain resolves.

Got the mag oil. Doing cooking for the festival. In a lot of pain. Might rub some oil in the leg and have a go at the massage when I get a moment. Back in agony too. Too many things to do. Parky getting quite perky. Thanks for all the support

I agree that being sure you're taking enough L/C is important and also if possible physical therapy might be of some benefit.

Very nice carrot, by the way! Mine are a disappointing size so far - I'm a beginner gardener with veggies. Anyway, sorry to hear about your leg/muscle pain - I really wish you good luck with all the great advice you got from our helpful HU friends.

Thankyou. I think it was a lucky one, phenotype ahead of the bunch, mostly they're thin.

Need to oil my leg again. Good stuff.. "magnesium mined from the Zechstein sea deposits a mile down , purified and condensed for 250 million years "

Johnmo,

I'm glad it is helping with your knees and leg pain! If you don't like the feel of it on your skin, you can add a very small amount of hand lotion on top of it and you will just end up with smoother skin that feels fine! I have also found that for the second application, you can sometimes get by with just adding water on top of the original application and this will reactivate the remainder of the magnesium that is just sitting on the skin. This in turn will allow your mag oil bottle to last longer!

Here is a link to a post all about magnesium and PD in both topical and oral forms.
