Does anyone have recent on the NAC clinical trial out of Thomas Jefferson? Improvements in their UPDRS score of about 13 %...any update?

First, the links you provide are articles about the study, and not the study itself. As a point of interest here is a link to the actual study:

and here is the trial listing:

-

-

In that trial patients received both injections of NAC AND oral NAC, and the question that has now arisen is whether or not ORAL ingestion has any effect because this follow on study indicated that even at very high doses ORAL ingestion of NAC was ineffective:

Now, me personally, given the proven benefit of NAC injections, I certainly think it can't hurt and might actually help slightly to try NAC. I admit I do not take it myself, but in terms of supplements with some scientific backing, NAC seems to be as good a candidate as any.

Joe, it seems difficult to get NAC by IV in traditional settings. I’m taking oral 1200 mg/d on the advice of the Doctor that interpreted my DNA results. I hope it’s not a waste of money. I also take NAD+resveratrol, both sourced from Life Extension USA.

Amy I take the same. Interested in hearing soon about the results.

Thanks Joe. The trial has now completed and the results will be published in about 6 months. They did a mid point report (I don't have the link handy but those interested can google it) and it looked v. promising.

So, P-oui, are you personally taking any NAC (orally) in hopeful expectation? I am! If anyone is similarly taking/researching NAD+ please advise.
