Cbd medical cannabis oil has become legal in va. And all drs. Are legally able to precribe it. I want to try it instead of prescription drugs which i donot take anyway. One must obtain a recommendation from their dr. Stating they think their patient would benefit from it in order to be seen by a medical marijuana doctor. Im wondering how would i present this to the neuro? Just come out and ask her does she plan on honoring the new law?

Hello Rosabellazita

Please explain to me why cannabis is so high on your list to try for your PD. Cannabis is a drug just like prescription drugs. It is processed just like prescription drugs. It is now a prescription drugs. I believe the fear of or mistrust of prescription drugs is a result of conspiracy theories and misinformation. Most PWP do great on prescription drugs.

12 years with pd 64 years old and doing great on prescription drugs.

I think there are different types of PDs. Existing with and without a lot of symptoms. To me tremor is the most horrible and devastating symptoms of all. Without tremors I think it is like comparing cold with flu or headache with migraine

People without tremors are often quick to say they get on well with this and theyget on well with that. And that med works well for them

The fact that most people mistrust prescription drugs is NOT as a result of conspiracy theories and misinformation. A lot of people have experienced horrible things with meds and this trickles down to others

Even my own neurologist warned me of a long list of possible very unpleasant side effects of meds. Medication may work without unpleasant side effects but there is also a very high chance of the opposite happening

Please read what GymBag wrote. You will take prescription meds when you can no longer take the pain.

Maybe you can explain to me why some people think that Cannabis was planted by God himself is the cure for everything and does no harm. That it is natural.

Cannabis has been bred to be what it is. In other words it has had it's DNA changed by breeding different plants to increase yield and to increase or decrease the active ingredients in it.

If you are going to recommend the use of Cannabis include the bad with the good things about Cannabis. All herbs have sides effects also. People just assume they are safe. I have provided some links below.

Cannabis is a drug as well as a herb.

Just because Cannabis is a herb does not make it safe. It has some serious side effects they are listed below . Cannabis is a drug!!!!

Why is it being legalised in many places then? Netherlands, a number states in the US and some other countries

You have those links because Marijuana just as well as any prescribed medication can easily be misused and thus become a health hazard. And more often than not people misuse Marijuana

But Cannabis or Marijuana extracts can produce positive outcomes when taken in proper controlled doses hence the term "Medical Marijuana"

I am not picking on Cannabis the use of it or anything about it. I just want people to research Cannabis and stop saying it safe to use and has no side effects. it is like all drugs it has it's bad side.

I have had Pd for 12 years and in that time i have spent days reading about meds. I have had side effects that put in the er. I have tried and stopped taking meds and tried and stopped the same meds again. I do not fear the side effects i just take them as they come. You have taken a stance about meds you have no personal knowledge of. i am fighting my PD with anything that i can. By the way i have won all the battles so far but i know i will lose the war.

What do you men by "honoring the new law". Just because it is legal your Doctor does not have to prescribe for you.

Please do not take it personal i wish that you are the first one to receive or find the cure for PD.

i hope you find peace in life.

Just ask her. It is a better drug than most in terms of side effects, but we have been trained to demonise and fear it as we are manipulated by big pharma.

It seems to help some people with tremors in particular. If you Google a bit you will find a lot of clips showing its effect on tremor - Ian frizzle (or fizzle?) has a good one. Direct her to them if she is sceptical! She will have been manipulated too!

Will be interested to know the outcome. Here in Aus it's still a matter of meeting a shady dealer in an empty car park! I'm too old for that!

Hi Rosabella , Still not taking any of those bad medicines eh. Obviously your PD is still only mild or you would be taking anything and everything that the Doctors had prescribed . You seem to be worried about how you will appear in front of your doctor , even though you will not take her advice and believe there is a Cannabis Doctor she will refer you to. You believe because something is called a herb and grown that it is natural so it is much better than a medicine that has been tested under strict rules because the medicine is derived by a Drug manufacturer which are of course evil. Deadly nightshade and many other plants mushrooms and herbs will drop you like a stone , because the various poisons are a part of the plant 's defense system. Yet , you think Levadopa which can be derived from several plants is bad because it comes in a bottle.

Maybe try becoming a vegan and dont eat any thing that has grown in fertilizer, and dont use chemicals like soap or disinfectant, and dont wear any cloths made from chemicals like nylon or have any plastic in your house or eat any processed food, dont ride in carbon producing vehicles , dont live in a city and try not to touch or come in contact with anyone and certainly dont take the advise of a health care professional when the whole world is involved in a conspiracy.

Good luck

Sorry , but I am doing sarcasm this month, logical explanations about why people believe very odd things is next month. I just wasted my breath on a follower of what ever is trending because others say what sounds easy to believe.

The people who spread the wives tales about , big pharma, prepared medication, inoculations ,eating meat, global warming , non gender pronouns, ill treatment of Indians, and on and on need to held responsible.

My life is at least 75% better. i am looking forward to your answer. Got to go now and rest my eye. I had e piece of metal taking out of my eye' They drill into the lens of my eye.

your state has a list of doctors certified to provide medical marijuana card. your state probably has dispensaries for receiving cbd/thc blend. i live in NY and received card, tried one dispensary which provides capsules to swallow with different cbd:thc ratios. the cost is not covered by prescription drug insurance. in states where marijuana is legal there are many blends but not in states where recreation marijuana is illegal. i only tried the prescribed BLUE and GREEN formulas. I had no success with BLUE but GREEN maybe helped a little. In Colorado there are Medical Marijuana health facilities with doctors who dx for you as well as salvia and invicta strains. bayer and monsanto have bought into medical marijuana so at some point there may be some real help. CBD non halluenagenic is legal in all states. (THC is not). I tried many just CBDs available in smoke shops and health food stores. the only one that worked for me is a CBD topical oil (BioCBD+ muscle and joint relief oil by Evolved Ayurvedic Discoveries EADLabs NV) which i rub on pain spots, not PD.

I also live in a state where medical marijuana (MM) was legalized and approached my neurologist with an article on benefits of MM for PD. His reply was that he had a patient who cured herself with marijuana, but when I asked for details the doctor unfortunately didn't want to provide any information and stated that he doesn't prescribe it.

not all doctors are certified to write prescription for medical marijuana. states with legal med marijuana list their certified med marijuana doctors and zip codes. v. easy to find.

medical maijuana will cost about $2000 a year and even though prescribed it is not covered by prescription insurance.

I am watching a series called “The Sacred Plant” which has been interesting to me since I haven’t ever looked favorably on cannabis for any reason. I may need to change my opinion? TBD If you are interested, you can google it. The last episode airs tomorrow.
