Night meds

Hi just starting to need meds to get through night . Trial and error atm with levadopa ordinary, controlled release or madophar. Any advice ?

My Husband ( 5 years diagnosed) takes a controlled release Madopar tablet at 10pm. He's taken this dose for over 2 years; and to be truthful, it didn't seem to work at all until a more recently prescribed dose of 'Primapexin' (1 x tablet per day at 7am alongside his instant release Madopar). He now sleeps much more comfortably, generally between 11pm & 5pm without interruption. Although restless in bed whilst asleep, he's now able to turn and reposition himself without help and to cover / uncover himself from the (lightweight) duvet by himself. Hope this info: might be helpful for you, because sleep deprivation is most damaging.

What is Primapexin? My Google could not find the word or wouldn't admit to finding the word. Google kept offering primaxin.

I wonder if it was meant to be pramipexole, (mirapexin, sifrol) a dopamine agonist. (Auto correct can come up with some creative spelling.)

yes if you dont know ask the chemist they will tell you.

Cr works for some but can run out at 2am and can lead to waking you up as the tank runs dry. Madopar is short acting if it’s dispersible long acting if it’s capsules

I was diagnosed approximately eight years ago and have tried a number of combinations of drugs including

modopar

sinamet

iam currently taking 2 100mg and 2 125mg sinamet together with 6 mg rotigotina patch and 1mg rasagaline tablet

my symptoms are significant wear off leaving me weak before every dose of sinamet

insomnia which see's me awake at 3am unable to go back to sleep

and recently lower back pain when I try to get out of bed, this is quite severe and frightening

goes after I take my meds at 7am

anyone recognise any of the above and offer any advice?

oh andd my consultant has asked me to consider taking melanin for sleep problems!

well i have said this before i had trouble with sinemet.as you will see lots of people who have problems with it..i went back to madopar and it suited me i stopped taking azilect is that what your taking as it never seamed to do anything .you can take sleeping tablets they help there are lots off good ones.

Been doing some research as found several references to different madophar . I take dispersable as required . Main meds are sinenet plus entecapone rasagaline and ropiniriole xl. I hadn’t heard of madophar extended release . I was taking sinenet cr at night but it didn’t do anything . Now hardly sleeping at all
