I'm considering participating in a clinical trial.

I'm curious who has participated in one and how was your experience?

I have and it has aLways been a positive experience but there are so many different types of trials from one off clinical assessment to brain surgery. Ive done both and more.

Alot depends on the country you are in. Health care systems, what happens if there is an adverse event - who pays for ongoing treatment etc. Its good to research it before hand as you are doing here and write up a list of the pros and cons for you personally.

I have participated in several, all positive experiences. BUT, what type of trial are you considering? Is it interventional?

I participated in the Exenatide trial here in the UK. I was regularly monitored and had two lumbar punctures during the year. It made me feel I was contributing to the medical profession and it was a good experience.
