My 51-year-old brother was diagnosed with Young Onset, 4.5 years ago. He has been on many different meds, is still having problems. He & his doctor agrees that he's ready for DBS, we just wish his Medical insurance was.
I'm helping him and my mom in any way I can with obtaining information on this Disease.
I have heard that progression of young onslaught is very slow. Your brothers case is astonishing which has progressed so much that there is a need of DBS. I think that things get better with exercise and supliments in young people
funny, I heard and have read just the opposite. To the OP there are plenty of places to get lots of Info on PD. This site is one of them, but just google Parkinson's disease and follow the links.
We are starting him on essential oils. So far the ones he has seen to be working. Especially with anxiety
Are you aware that no medication does anything to slow down the progression of Pd? To the best of my knowledge, neither does DBS. They both help to mask some of the symptoms, but that is only temporarily. I have helped many people to start reversing their symptoms, as I have. Not everybody is able to do this, but it costs nothing to do the fast walking, and it is very healthy, providing that your doctor does not say it would harm him.
