"...muscle spasms, leg cramps, even some of the symptoms of restless leg can be reduced by magnesium supplementation."

"Magnesium is a key co-factor in calcium use, so the proper calcium/magnesium balance is important in treating issues like osteoporosis and osteopenia."

"Magnesium also plays a role in nerve function. The influx of calcium into the terminal end of the nerve cell is the trigger for the nerve to release its neurotransmitter."

Magnesium helps keep you "regular," too.

425mg /day doesn't appear to help me pass :)

Bummer! That's one symptom that can require a multi-pronged attack.

My constipation ended when I gave up dairy, processed sugar and gluten...I haven't got around to selecting for which of these is the culprit...been loose now for 18 months before I had constipation for 6 years.

Has anyone else had similar results?

P.S. I am not fanatical about it i.e. If I am on the road and there is nothing else I will eat a roadhouse sandwich but that's the exception.

Gosh Coling how on earth do you manage dairy, gluten and sugar free.....your willpower must be amazing. Well done! 😊

There are lots of alternative milks, almond, coconut, cashew

Alternative sugars would be using honey, agave, molasses, coconut sugar.

Alternatives to gluten(wheat, barley, and rye contain the most gluten) also the most gmo chemical exposure. Alternatives to gluten would be rice flour, almond flour, coconut flour, and tapioca flour. Even bisquik makes a gluten free version now. Pillsbury and Bette Crocker make gluten free mixes. Bob’s red Mill makes many gluten free mixes.

The best things to eat are foods that are the way God grew them , leafy green veggies, root veggies and picked berries and lean meats. Kind of what a hunter gatherer might eat instead of processed drive through foods.

Although, I can even purchase a premade pizza at the grocery now that has cauliflower crust. Lol

Blessings to you

Thanks for your reply. I use almond milk & honey & avoid bread; I also eat a lot of berries, salad and veggies & very little meat but trying to get my husband with Parkinson's to do the same is difficult!

Where do you buy a pre-made pizza with cauliflower crust? I'd love that.....must be in the USA

I am doing the same diet wise, succeeding about 80% of the time so I can be a little flexible. i think it makes me feel better but have also not isolated which one is the key factor. Constant battle with constipation though and have to take phyllium as well as eat lots of fiberous veggies. Then I get wind! It's a trade off!!

My doctor added Magnesium and Vit E to my list of daily pills. Along with a very weak muscle relaxer. It's helped me tremendously.

This article discussing of magnesium is appropriate for peripheral neuropathy which frequently is a consequence of long-term dopamine supplementation. I don’t think it’s likely to have any affect on dystonia as a consequence of central nervous system dysfunction such as PD.

I do find it helpful for constipation with one caveat: flatulence.

Yes, we are in the states.

“Caulipower Pizza” is in Kroger grocery stores. You might find a good recipe on Pinterest or order it off Amazon.

2cups grated cauliflower

1C Parmesan cheese

1egg

I would add some cream cheese too.

I just saw several on Pinterest.

Wishing you and your mate the very best. You can’t go wrong with the healthy and fresh vegetables and fruits. Anything to keep the system alkaline and reduce inflammation will invariably help these auto immune mediated diseases.

We use all the Arbonne products, plus healthy eating.

Google them.

Blessings to y’all

Sorry I wasn’t supposed to mention a product. I just saw that. Please forgive. Hope you find a great vegan pizza. Ours was awesome.
