Probably best not to take them for too long because if side effects.

Look up ' non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)'.

Why do you think you have swelling? Is it PD related? Just wondering. Take good care of yourself.

My doctor told me Tylenol for long use due to side affects of IBPROFIN

Tylenol routinely causes elevation of liver enzymes, an indication of liver toxicity , when taken at the labeled maximum dosage. Such a drug would NEVER be approved today by modern standards. Even minor accidental overdoses can cause serious illness.

I hear bad things about ibuprofen and Tylenol. So what is safe to take?

FWIW, I took 600 mg of ibuprofen for years without adverse effect. I used the liquid form encased in a gel cap, so when it dissolves it spreads out instead of a pill landing in one spot.

Child’s aspirin.

Ibuprofen - no . . . hard on the kidneys. Tylenol - yes . . . better all around!

Tylenol bad, very bad, on the liver and worse yet if alcohol involved

Long-Term Acetaminophen Use and Health Risks.

Analysis of research says it's 'not a benign drug' if used long term and in larger doses.

Intestinal bleeding/hemorrhage is the main complication of taking Ibuprofen ( any ANSAID) and it is not dose related. Hemorrhage is usually none fatal and it is treated mainly by blood transfusion. Beware, no warning.

I'm assuming that taking it with food would help prevent damage to the stomach.

I stopped the taking the Ibuprofen a 2 weeks or so after this post. I now just take the Gabapentin with C/L 3000 mg a day and Ropinirole 6 mg a day
