75 years old. Pd for 4 years. Not on medication. Stiffness, balance issues, weakness on the right side, gait problems. Good days and bad days. Do no contact boxing 3 days a week which I enjoy and it helps me to feel normal. Getting stronger every week.

Good morning.

Sounds like you are doing well. Just one question why no meds. They help so much for most people. They can and will control your symptoms.

As you say Bailey, they help "most". There are a seemingly small group of people who aren't helped by the usual C/L me included. Ranger, well done on the exercise!

They also can cause dykensia after long term use

That has been disproven. They do cause it but stops when the med is stopped. Even if they do in the long term the benefits for out weight any problems they may cause.

Invasive and not needed to determined if you have pd.

Some days I want meds, but I just want to go as long as I can without. I've heard they eventually quit working.

Don't forget nutrition....it has helped me tremendously, along with exercise. vimeo.com/191664871

I don't take meds and don't have insurance that covers prescriptions anyway. I love it as it forces me to eat correctly and exercise. My family now happily eats spaghetti squash alongside me, instead of our beloved grain spaghetti. I am hoping eating this way will become a habit for my 13 year old, as he may be at risk for PD with a mother and grandfather with PD.

If your not taking meds, what diet are you in? Supplements? Symptoms? Maybe your symptoms are not severe? Thanks for sharing.

Just a good diet. Very little sugar. good fats, no fried foods, very little red meat. Lots of supplements of course. Mostly run of the mill sups. Omega 3, B vit, digestive aids, multi, CO Q 10, Lion's mane mushroom(not sure if it is helping). My symptoms are not severe, but plenty bothersome.

Vegan saved my life. I have very minimal tremors and I no longer have off periods from my meds
