With or without food? Maybe. I take Mucuna, not Sinemet, but protein taken together with it definitely cuts down my on-times. Why should you believe that RxList is authoritative? Time and rime again, the so-called Parkinson's experts turn out to be wrong. At the very least, the idiosyncracies of each case preclude sweeping blanket pronouncements--many members on this forum can vouch for that. There is no substitute for *cautious* trial and error with your own body.
Yes. Try to set up a schedule for taking your meds. And stick to it religiously. I have learned through trial and error that Carbidopa/Levodopa on time for me last from 4 to 6 hours. So I take 2 at 6am, 2 at 11am, 2 at 3:30pm, 2 at 7:30pm, and 2 at Midnight and go to bed at midnight. This works great as long as I stick to the schedule. And it leaves time to work in meals. If I eat too soon after meds the c/l doesn't work well. So I either take c/l 30 minutes before or 1 hour after eating because protein does work against the c/l. And I do need the protein too. I hope this helps you.
