I am new here & was diagnosed with PD 2 years ago after experiencing balance problems; I fell down our steps twice & received 2 mild concussions. My neurologist prescribed several meds (Sinemet, etc.) but I couldn't take them due to severe nausea and hallucinations. I now use 2 mg Neupro transdermal patches & they work well as long as I apply the patch immediately after waking up in the morning. For the diabetes I take Metformin ER and Glipizide, and for depression and anxiety Prozac and Xanax. Am also on Lipitor and Cozzar for high cholesterol and hypertension. Would love to hear from anyone who has advice and information to share.

Welcome. Parkinson's is complex and each PWP is an individual with their own symptoms and response to medications. What country are you in? How long have you been a diabetic? Are you white Caucasian? . Each country has their own treatments including anti sickness drugs. Physiotherapist speech and language therapy as well as continence assessments are routine in the UK but not in other countries. The patch at 2mg is low dosage but as you have already had hallucinations any increase will need to be slow. Anti emetics such as domperidone are used to prevent sickness but again that is UK.

Balance problems seem to be the hardest thing to cure Diswa, sorry to hear about your serious falls, although on a relative low dose I have no problems coping with Sinamet 25/100.

I would say for type 2 diabetes and for Parkinson's - exercise and a high fat, low carb diet is beneficial.
