I suffer badly with this part of Parkinson's. I am thinking of trying hypnotherapy. Has anyone any experience with this.

I, too, have trouble with freezing gait, sometimes. Once, I froze, and fell forward, for some reason, I couldn't stop myself. I ended up with blunt force trauma to the head, a concussion, gash on the forehead and two black eyes. I never thought of hypnotherapy. I'll look into that. Thanks for the suggestion.

I went for hypnotherapy and it didnt help 100% but it did help a lot. More than anything else I've tried. I highly recommend it.

Sure. First of all, it totally eliminated the uncontrollable anxiety I had for years. This was one of my earliest symptoms. It also reduced the tremors i had in my rt leg. And the tremors in my right hand reduced too. The effect so far has been permanent. I sleep way better too. I would do it again if I could afford it. I want to add, also, that my hypnotist had never done a Parkinson's case before. And i had never been hypnotized. We had no idea if it would work or not, but we gave it a try. He did a little research beforehand on pd in general. Im happy with the results, i feel like I came out ahead of where I started. The results came after one session. I did 4 sessions but saw no additional benefits after the first. And like I said, id do it again in a New York minute. Since then I have read much of the material on pdrecovery.org regarding idiopathic pd and long term use of dissociative states. I wish i could pay my hypnotist to study that too and work with me a little more, now that i know what I know about it. In summary, my first hypnosis session was the single most helpfulthing ive done for myself regarding my pd. Try it with no expectations and good luck!
