Maria Ana Neves from the University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Medicine has developed a questionnaire about swimming and Parkinson's as part of her Master of Neurosciences thesis.

As swimming is a frequent activity for many people, it is important to note if there is a change in the ability to swim. Signs and symptoms of Parkinson's can have an effect on how the body is able to move, leading to tremors, stiffness, slow movements, and gait changes. There are some reports suggesting that people with Parkinson’s may have difficulty swimming, even in the early stages of the disease.

Therefore, this survey aims to evaluate difficulties experienced by people with Parkinson's whilst swimming. If you would like to take part in this survey please click the link above.

Thank you!

Actually this reminds me. I was watching a youtube video where brain cancer cells might be killed under high pressure and Ketosis. So I was wondering whether the same could happen to break up the alpha synuclein clumps. So next time I am near a pool I will go swimming in he morning at the bottom of the pool in the deep end without breakfast (possibly after an early morning run) to see how I feel.

This will be in Germany where I will studiously avoiding the mixed naked sauna.

I will try that too. Swimming and aquasize promote strong gait and less off times for me.
