Starting the Marty Hinz Amino Acid Protocol. New Dr.

Drove 2 hrs to see the new Dr today. It was well worth it. Finally a doctor that speaks our language, if you know what I mean. He has several patients on the amino acid protocol and they are having success with it. Very encouraging. All were worse than me when they started (my UPDRS is 33 on my worst day, but still...)

He talked about Thiamine, which we have been discussing here lately. Highly approved of it and was very familiar with the studies on it. Also said to look into Lithium, which is a great neuro healer, and recommended this book: amazon.com/dp/B01FT4OGDI/re...

Stressed the importance of bike riding, as we know here as well.

some other things he said to consider were:

bodybio phoshtidl choline ( spelling??)

L Taurine - 1 scoop per day and cod liver oil

Lithium 10-20 mg day

HCG injections

nasal light vielight therapy

oral and IV chelation

ultraviolet blood irradiation

oral and IV lipid exchange (PK Protocol)

far infra red saunas

pulsed electromagnetic field or frequency therapy

frequency specific micro current ( I have done this for my back, it works wonders!)

molecular magnetic energizer therapy

IV and liposomal glutathione therapy

vitamin B6 200mg 2x day

pdrecovery.com or org - free ebook

thiamine 100 mg 2-3 times a day

It looks like a lot of quackery mixed in there but he sure sounded like he knew his stuff and has had success with PD, so I shall begin my latest quest! He had the aminos in stock so Im gonna start on them tomorrow at noon. My friends, I will keep you posted and as usual, I welcome feedback. We put our heads together, we will beat this!

Much success with that protocol I'm sure it works. I did try it but was unable to take so many pills. Best to you.

Thank you! As i already take fifty thousand supplements, i dont think its gonna be an issue.

Very much interested in how it will go in the future. How much do you pay? Not everybody will be able to afford it. But when it helps

First batch was three different bottles of capsules. about $150 or $180. I gotta check again. The thing is, some people itll be $150 / month, some people $500. Depends on how much it takes to balance you out.

Do you know of anyone who has had success with the amino acid protocol? I understand from their website it costs $200-500 mionthly.

Personally i dont know anyone whos done it. Just studied the research for the past 6 months. The dr i found said he has success with the majority of his pd patients that do it. The amount they need to use varies greatly from one person to the next.

Hey bass, i am doing and have tried many of the action items on this list. I just took break on the hinz protocol after failing to reach balance with 2 different practitioners for 7 months (each one!). Basically after 1 yr & 3 months I am on C/L 25/100 3x/day to take a break to see how the rest of the world does it. Still not giving up though! Can you share the name of your practitioner?

Best of luck to you! And watching closely.

I do not know how the Hinz protocol works for Parkinson's. However, I have used it for depression, and it made things worse.

However, there are things that I didn't realize, that should be red flags for anyone considering the protocol.

1) He has received warning letters from the FDA for making false claims about the success of his amino acid protocol.

1) Dr. Hinz is bipolar.

3) Hinz has had his medical license suspended TWICE for putting patients at risk by prescribing when in a manic state

4) The protocol is based on HInz's theories. No other company does the same kind of testing, so it is not independently validated.

5) Hinz's owns the lab that runs the urine testing. He also owns the company that sells the supplements.

6) Hinz is known to fly off the handle. Refer to this thread to give you an example:

dr-bob.org/cgi-bin/pb/mget....

7) The cost can quickly escalate. I was paying over $800 a month.

So please be aware if you are considering the protocol.

I am aware of all of the above. Just want to say that I have been applying his protocol since July 2017 and I have found that it makes me feel dramatically better. As a plus, any depression, anhedonia or anxiety I had before is completely gone. My monthly cost is about $100 or so for supplements. He has the data to back up his claims. His published research is easily available on the web and he has documented many, many cases of success, not only with Parkinsons, but a multitude of other neurological transmitter imbalance conditions ranging from tricholomania, weight loss, schizophrenia, depression and more. My GP doctor (absolutely brilliant guy) was trained by him personally, and he considers Dr Hinz to be a genius.

Thank you for sharing your information for those trying to make an informed decision.

Is Hinz treating you, or are you under the care of someone else?

bassofspades profile image

A doctor trained by Hinz in Lakeland, Florida. Dr S Todd Robinson.

Be careful. I know someone in Indiana that was on that protocol and he got worse and the cost kept rising. It may work for some but just be cautious. Keep us informed.

bassofspades profile image
bassofspades in reply to laglag

I guess its not for everyone. Different things work or do not work for different cases, that the name of the game in PD.

You're right. I wish you the best of luck!

parkinsondoc profile image

When symptoms get worse it is called a paradoxical reaction. Usually if you increase the amino acid dose within one to two days symptoms get better. Increasing the dose is required to get better. If you simply stop and run away you will be left with the problem you started with. Usually a paradoxical reaction means you are on the right track, but it has to be managed properly. This is why you need an experienced caregiver in charge. Much of what occurs and needs to be done is counter intuitive (opposite of common sense).

Hi bassofspades !!

How are you doing with the Hinz protokoll ?? And are you taking it besides Sinemet, etc. ??

And can you ask your Doc Robinson, if he know somebody who use it in Europe ??

And....are you still working ? You have "a sitting job", right ??

bassofspades profile image
bassofspades in reply to JANVAN

Hey there Janvan! No sinemet for me. Thats why i do the hinz protocol. Doing pretty well with that. I don't go to dr Robinson any more. He is great but too far. Contact dr Hinz's office and they can refer you to someone. I still work and i work very hard. I scrub with interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures, assisting the doctors. Overtime every week. Exhausting!

Do you follow Dr Heinz recommendation for thiamine hcl or Dr. Constantine?

bassofspades profile image
bassofspades in reply to ConnieD

I dont know what hinzs recommendation for thiamine is. I go w dr Cosentini's for that.

Check here healthunlocked.com/parkinso...

I am in the Daytona area. This Dr Robinson is in Lakeland. He is really good with pd patients. Better than my neuro who just wanted to prescribe sinemet and let me rot.

Do you know of any doctor in Toronto Ontario using the Hinz Protocol

My wife has P.D. but does not meet Hinz qualifications.

Thank you

I hope you have success with the advice from the new doctor. It sounds complicated, and seems very time consuming, but if it works, it will be worth the effort. What kind of doctor is this doctor? Thanks for any reply.

bassofspades profile image
bassofspades in reply to sleezy

He was a family practice physician but unfortunately he passed away July. One year after he set me up with the amino acid protocol.
