IF there was only a marker of antioxidant status, and a level needed for PD it would be helpful. I question the wisdom of taking so many supplements, its a daily pain and also costly. Do I take too many ? Is my list proven to help or harm ?
1) Curcumin, the pricey kind for absorption with Soy phospholipids Meriva brand,
studies have shown its neuroprotective and safe.
2) Co Q10 100mg twice a day, also pricey, but shown to be harmless and associated with mitochondrial good function.
3) Selenium, shown to be deficient in diets.
4) Vitamin K2, also shown to deficient from diet and helps to prevent toxicity from Vitamin D overdose.
5) Vitamin D3 10K units /day, but not every day, skip a few days a week. Too much can be toxic, but also shown to directly raise brain neurotrofic factors. Only way to know level is test.
6) Astaxanthin 12mg That is the one I am not worried about overdosing since you can not overdose on it.
