It's Amazing

It's Amazing I used to play racquet ball, bench press 350 lbs ,play golf , play basketball , dance , being funny , work, married , full time father, cook, have sex . Because of this Fucking disease name Parkinson's I can't do any of them anymore.

So please God so the scientist as your instruments the for finding a CURE for and other diseases your children are suffering with .

Amen

  • Wow. I do know how frustrated you are. Raquet ball and weights were never my thing but the rest - you bet. Now then, having a rant is fine - but continuing on that path will be detramental to your condition. I had a rant the other day but have calmed down and feel that I can take on the role of looking at both sides of the argument. My Minister (Church of Scotland) says that God only gives you what you can handle. He didn't say it would be easy. Nothing worth fighting for is. I hate PD like you and everyone else who has this lousy disease. Looking at your profile I assume you live in the U.S.A. If so do not vote Republican. Why not? A whole big bunch of their voters, (allegedely on religious grounds) are against stem cell research which I think is our best chance of finding a cure. Whatever you think of Obama, he is for stem cell search and pours $mega millions into the program but the other guys don't. I guess most of you folks "over the pond" know this but does no harm to remind you with a gentle nudge.

    I do hope this helps.

  • dude your the whole reason i got back onto this site. your letting parkinsons define you. Dont be one of these people sitting around awaiting for a cure. it isnt coming. i dont now how bad you are everyone different. but i was pretty bad until i had bds surgery which almost killed me .but feeling pretty good since.

. i ve had pd since i was 30. 42 now. i know you cant dont the same shit you use to but you got live your. parkinsons doesnt hold you back it just something you deal with. feel free to email me if you need to talk i ve been where you are and its dark and your pissed. bass_x@ymail.com

  • drew410 I'd like to reply to your post, but am trying to stay positive. :)

  • We all need to let off steam once in a while and heaven knows Parkinsons is not something I would wish on anyone, but we have it and just have to get on with things. I am sure we all say 'why me?' at times, I know I do, but then I try to find just one good thing in my life or something good that has happened that day or even try and make something good happen.

I am not saying I do not understand how you feel, but I try to be positive. No one knows that a CURE is not just round the corner - we have to believe that it is. Do not let this Monster take over your life. You were there before it joined you and you are still that same person.

Sorry, when reading this , I sound holier than thou, believe me I am not, but I am a realist who understands exactly how you are feeling.

  • heer hear says i ;-)

  • It's true, we're still who we were before PD and while we may not be able to do all the things we used to I am so grateful for what I CAN still do. I just finished reading a book about Gabrielle Giffords (former AZ Congresswoman). A gentleman that had recovered from a gunshot wound to the head told her he used to be able to do 550 things and now he can only to 200 things. But rather than focus on the 350 things he can't do he chooses to focus on the 200 things he can do (not an exact quote but it would take me to long to find it again). I think that is a great attitude to have which leads me to my current book (gosh I love my Kindle) Attitudes of Gratitude 10th Anniversary...How to give and receive joy everyday of your life. I am grateful for this day and everyone I can share it with. Hope you all have a wonderful day. :o)

  • I hear ya man. I have no idea what your symptoms are like so I don't know what you are going through. I'm 34 and have had the diseas for 12 years. It ruined my big league baseball career, and I have had two brain surgeries, one nearly killed me.

I feel like I can relate to most anything you are going through. Yes it sucks to deal with it every day. You just have find a way to pick yourself up everyday and find something you can contribute to. Hang in there brother, I just finished a book that might help you find a way to deal with your PD. go to benpetrick.com for more info

  • amen!

  • I have a similar story. I was a Super heavy weight Power Lifter. I could dead lift 800 bench 430 and squat 650. I miss the old me. I know with age things change but between 4 back surgeries and PD I feel worthless. I feel for you Brother.

GOD DOES HEAL WE MUST BELIEVE THIS

  • Thanks
